Hanging around in the pits, wasting his time, should be out on track Hancock will always be the exception gate on a fast motor try to stay out of trouble hope for the best ,fair play neither Doyle or Freddie would wish to compete like that .I just genuinely think that they will never win the title and will only get more injuries trying to do so plus time is catching up with them . Agreed I do think to be a multiple world champion you need to avoid to many big knocks, Hancock other than that one where he ended up with his arm in another riders mudguard (which was horrific) has mostly stayed out of trouble. Hans Nielson didn't have to many bad knocks either but as you say Doyley and Freddie although awesome riders have had some pretty bad knocks over the years, sadly Tai who generally stayed out of trouble has had a torrid time last three years also. And as you say older you get the more these knocks must start to catch up mentally and physically, Chris Holder another example. 1

I misunderstood your post !! It certainly could have been worded better as i’m sure everyone would think it’s 2026 not the future you were referring to.

eric i
Watching it from the stands I could not believe it went ahead and produced good racing, the drainage is so good on the track and hats off to the track staff. The racing this year has been the best its ever been imo, well done Phil Morris. Looked like he was going to have a heart attack when the electrics went, he owes that electrician a pat on the back, green flag starts are a joke. There was indeed that's a fair point he was a different breed that fella major smashes all the time and yet like the terminator he just kept coming but I do think for 99% of the time you need to avoid the big dings I think Holder snr could have had 2-3 world titles but he had two really bad crashes plus Darcy Ward crash even now he's still a great rider but he lost that extra 5% the top 1-2% really top tier have.

I agree about Holder and Ward was a special talent but I was never a NP fan I really don't like riders who overtly ride in manner that is plainly dangerous ( particularly to his fellow competitors )I don't dispute his ability or achievements just the way in which he has conducted himself during his career .
