2027 ACU Licence Holders.

I read on the SCB website that from 2027 any rider that requires start permission to race in another domestic league (Poland, Sweden, Denmark) & holds an ACU licence must race in a British League.

So assuming I have understood this correctly. Can the British paying public expect to see the British World Champion racing on the circuits of Britain in 2027.

Then theres the question of where will he go. Kings Lynn is where he started & close to his family home. Ipswich now owned by the SGP owner & an SGP circuit for 2027 or maybe Belle Vue where he has won the British Title and then theres Glasgow always rumour that they might be tempted into the top flight.

But he may just decide not to have a British licence, as a resident of Poland with a polish wife, he may get a licence to ride in Poland. And can't see the FIM wanting the world champion not to ride in the GP

So we'll see another Rune Holta, with Robert Lambert riding under the Polish flag and in the Polish World Cup / SON squads.

That'll be interesting as I believed you can't ride for Great Britain without an ACU licence??

I’d also like to see them implement a rule which British riders have to put their British club first over any other league or even FIM meetings and it’s up to the ACU/SCB to make sure Poland, Denmark Sweden and the FIM understand this rule, when Poland realise how important British riders are to their leagues and we are serious about it they will show respect and honour, at the moment we are a joke of an organisation and who is going to respect that ?

The FIM put out their calendar in advance and then UK Speedway plan in fixtures knowing 100% that there will be a clash for their riders....

Hardly the FIM's fault...

And, as well, tracks go several weeks without a fixture on nights with no FIM meetings that would impact them...

UK Promoters even plan in meetings on the nights of UK Championship qualifiers..

The issue is a lot closer to home than the FIM...

It would be pretty disgraceful if a British world champ rides under a different nation as world champ.

It's also disgraceful to force someone to ride in a league that they may feel is financially unviable.

Is it true that Jason Doyle has dual-citizenship and intends to ride as a Brit with an ACU license next year? 

Rory Schlein has done so a few years ago and even won the British Individual Championship.

At least Lambert rode in the British final more than some riders who ride in the UK full time

I agree with the sentiment, but equally how important are British riders to Poland really? Bewley and Lambert granted, but they aren't irreplaceable...after that it's slim pickings - either kids or stopgaps (Wright, Rowe, etc.)

I think this new change is a step in the right direction at least, providing Lambert doesn't switch to a foreign licence (either now or in the future).
