Also there are no restrictions on riding German or French leagues, maybe even CZ, so he can be as busy as he chooses. Richard Coleman said on one of the podcasts he did a few weeks ago that doubling up was being classed as "two leagues"... Maybe it has changed?... Maybe it has changed?... https://ekstraliga.pl/en/se/news/new-rules-for-riders-in-speedway-leagues-from-2027 The system will include the PGE Ekstraliga and METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, as well as the top speedway leagues in Sweden, Denmark, and Great Britain. A rider with a contract in Poland will be able to participate simultaneously in a maximum of two of the other three national leagues covered by the agreement. ----- This does read as though only the aforementioned leagues fall within the rules. I may have read that wrong, though, as I'm sure the rule is 100% crystal clear(....) 😁
Hilly
You would imagine the two over 8 rule had been agreed to be no more for 2027, hence Oxford making a move, alongside potentially other teams. Supposedly, two teams are not happy and meetings have been taking place, plenty of noise being made. Local radio reported the signing on Friday ( I didn't hear it but was told ) since then a few people have got very annoyed internally and seemingly a few other clubs. Technik
I did a little research into Tom Brennans average he has an exisiting CL average from his time at Poole in 2024 of 9.05 & last season he finished with a PL average of 5.91 for Ipswich of course he will get the 5% British reduction but as to which counts & how its calculated is another thing

Once Brennan has ridden in the Champ his old Poole average will be used for his rolling average, so expect it to jump up.

TTT Posted yesterday at 03:26 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:26 PM Brennan's GSA would be above 8.00 so I don't think he's at Oxford unless the rules have changed. 5.91 x 1.4 = 8.27 (8.07 after 2.5% British Reduction) or 5.91 x 1.5 = 8.86 (8.64 after 2.5% British Reduction) Didn't last winter confirm that the CHAMP rules were set for 3 Years?

Think there’s too many riders who have exceeded the 8 point limit for them to stick to that, o matter how much teams have manipulated riders averages at the end of the season. From what I was told a team can build using as many 8+ point riders as they want as long as the combined 7 riders don’t exceed the points limit of course. Oxford going down the Glasgow 2026 route by all accounts

The rule should be lifted. Let the teams build their sides how they want, not to mention we don’t want riders without jobs because they didn’t manipulate their average
