Perhaps speedway riders should watch the best bike racers in the world in moto gp being interviewed and learn from it -

Have I missed a forum directive that members have to put their holiday details on the forum?? Surely this would be of no interest to any other poster and pointless!! -

Think I would expect Joe to outscore max at the moment Mike but don't think that's going to have much affect on the match result, has to be a comfortable home win, if its barker, newman and Rowe the top three that's pretty weak. -
If they don't sign anyone before their first match what facilty will they have? Makes you wonder what's going to happen if there's a few injuries this yr

Plymouth Gladiators 2024
poole keith replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
purely going on riss recent performances at poole he seemed a rider a long way off full confidence,he was looking behind at least 6 or more times in every race,at his best a fair signing but jmo a real risk.I do think its essential both for the league and plymouth speedway that they have a competitive team this season and to that end would support the promoters easing the rules if necessary to make that possible -
I suppose the stadium is "operational "because there is greyhound racing ,so it must be "substantialy" complete to do this, why there's no speedway is certainly bewildering
-
thats correct arnieg re planning applications, tho he wouldnt have to "aquire some form of ownership"would just need to "aquire" an arrangement or agreement with the freeholder and a developer(who would provide funds) No risk no work for osborne!!

Essential that max gets plenty of track time to help his progression at Poole,so big thank-you to all the other promoters for their help Haha -
matts decision to drop down was not purely a speedway decision, there were at the time other important considerations.
-
Have to agree, obviously it's matt ford's decision and he can do as he wishes, cant believe poole fans are so fickle that they wouldn't turn out on a mon or thurs especially considering the quality riders in the prem compared to what some would call average fare in division two.if he did ever take over at coventry you can be certain it would be top flight only!!
-
The stock reply to that jason is its because every rider wants to hold their testimonial at Poole haha
-
Can you put up his recent Danish scores please clive, thanks

Don't forget the Internet can become a massive fantasy world for many people
-
He's a 4pt rider in a poor league ,should be some close racing next season tho ,which will be good
-
Appreciate fb reservations but really looking forward to watching two young brits at the beginning of their professional careers, going to be some exciting racing tho obviously they will have some bad meetings. Re the final signing don't think we should be expecting a potential superstar after all he's coming in as a second string in a weak British second division, a final average of 4.5 or more would be excellent imo

British Riders' Championships

The Royal engineers won the fa cup in 1875 shall we call them world club champions?? -
probably right roger, also poole speedway had a great relationship with various poole mayors and councillors thro the years, due in no small part to the tremendous work done by matt ford to develop this, however youve now got to chuck in all the bournemouth and christchurch councillors and your dealing with a different animal and certainly cant imagine many of them supporting motorbike racing !
-
No chance there but purely as a back up I would look at the ringwood cheetahs banger racing site, weekly meetings there thro summer, also is there still banger racing venue on the Wareham/weymouth road??
-
Quite right Skidder why would the council re let it,no logic in that at all.shovler keeps going on "he's only a leaseholder "But if the freeholder, the council and the leaseholder, Osborne, agree a common path and a deal which is to their joint financial benefit then that's it , matt ford would not be Involved
-
That's a weird one nick, what's he up to? I have heard from acouple of people (totally unsubstantiated)that Osborne has already done a deal to surrender his stadium lease back to the council oct 24,in return for involvement in future development of the site, first thoughts were that's ok,however it also appears the council dont want to operate a stadium so it has to be returned with vacant possession, So he kicks out the speedway then ala Swindon says he's got a company looking for a motorsport site cos he's a closet petrol head. Am hoping it's bollocks but unfortunately parts of this do add up
-
Oh dear what a shame we have some great potential candidates, perhaps that's what the bspl was afraid of haha
-
Saturday at 3!!! That's going to be hard,so much competition for everybody's time then
-
I suppose teams will now be able to bring in specialist guests for second strings at tricky away matches ,also I'm not overly confident about clubs sticking with the youth development programme, It will be interesting to monitor how many blank weeks we have at Poole??
