tellboy 3,661 Posted September 19, 2017 (edited) Don't see why Somerset cannot be re-arranged and have the first leg Wednesday. It would be interesting to know why. Surely the play offs are more important. But how would you,as a fan feel if say you had booked time off work, maybe an overnight stay to watch your team ride only for it to be postponed and your team not riding there. Play-offs are not the as important as the fans. Edited September 19, 2017 by tellboy
foreverblue 6,095 Posted September 19, 2017 The play offs already badly undermine the kocup and the league programme, some fans seem to want the play offs to undermine the kocup even more than it already does? #lookatthebigpictureffs! The k o cup is behind the play offs in terms of importance, who won the k o cup last season?
bigcatdiary 3,165 Posted September 19, 2017 Watch out whoever goes through. Swindon will be ready with some horses for courses guest to come in after one of their out of form riders sneezes. Probably, It's difficult to imagine where they learnt that from.
colin wood 249 Posted September 19, 2017 They are almost the same thing. Both knock out cups run over two legs.Just a bigger cup, probably for one of them.Meanwhile the league winners get nothing.

Lefty 1,266 Posted September 19, 2017 If Belle Vue beat Swindon and Wolves Select beat Somerset on Friday could we have a double header at NSS on Wednesday 27/9? If this happened which meeting would be staged first?
Wolfsbane 12,944 Posted September 19, 2017 If Belle Vue beat Swindon and Wolves Select beat Somerset on Friday could we have a double header at NSS on Wednesday 27/9? If this happened which meeting would be staged first? I'm past caring.

If this happened which meeting would be staged first? Great idea. We could have both meetings in one. Heat 1 of the play off followed by Heat 1 of the cup. Endless permutations of fun.

RobMcCaffery 2,752 Posted September 20, 2017 Agree stupid non important tin pot meeting it means nothing. People rightly bitch about the lack of fixtures then when the KO Cup is revived it gets described as 'tin pot'. Just what exactly isn't 'tin pot' then? No wonder the seasons are so pathetically short if this mentality is commonplace. Why can't people just go to enjoy a night out at the speedway instead of sneering at anything that doesn't directly involve winning the league trophy in order to sound clever? After all, by your standards aren't all speedway matches 'tin pot'. Sorry, just realised I was talking to a Poole fan. Second halves (tinpot - axed), pairs (tinpot, axed) fours (tinpot, axed), individuals (tinpot, almost axed), challenge matches/regional tournaments (tinpot, almost axed), cup (tinpot, should be axed?), league matches after cut-off date (tinpot, should be axed?), league matches (tinpot?), speedway (tinpot?). Why can't we just enjoy speedway and enjoy a night out without obsessing on how 'meaningful' it is. After all, isn't all sport actually meaningless, if enjoyable(*)? (*unless you're sadly the type that can only enjoy winning).
