Add him to the long list of great potential unfulfilled. As always, there is more going on behind the scenes than gets told, Eastbourne would be wise to take him back on if he has the right set up.. At start of season Wood changed set-ups and struggled Cook was claiming early on that Wood had excellent sponsors and backing and needed to perform .... he did so at Arlington but failed away ... it was definately stated he had called Eagles and retired
tocha 308 Posted September 23, 2019 As we know, Eastbourne host Birmingham this Saturday. What we don't know is whether or not Richard will be riding. A late change has been made to the PL play-off dates whereby the Poole v Ipswich 1st leg match has been moved to Thursday and the second leg also now on Saturday. Neither club has yet commented. Skidder1 7,637 Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) Its only right that Lawson rides for Eastbourne as the rearranged meeting at Ipswich is on a SGBP 'off-night'! The rules are quite clear......! Edited September 23, 2019 by Skidder1 1

ruckerroo 792 Posted September 23, 2019 It sort of sums speedway up in the uk if Richard rides for ipswitch, just don't give a toss about anything other than the so called premiership

I see very little point in holding the fixtures that occur after the play off cut off dates.....that said i personally feel all fixtures should be completed before the KO cups etc are started, if you haven't got your home fixtures down you don't get to enter....simple
gazzac 1,015 Posted September 23, 2019 With the forecast not looking good for the weekend even now, reckon Eastie will move the last meeting back to October 5th which will get over the Lawson problem if the Ipswich match goes ahead. Have to agree, one way or another the Birmingham fixture should have been completed before the cut off, and again it just shows the bspa will sh** on the lower leagues without a second thought for race nights and affecting potential big crowds. woofers 467 Posted September 23, 2019 Regarding the situation with Lawson, the sensible thing to do would be to move the Eastbourne v Birmingham meeting to the following Saturday. This is the last meeting of the year for Eastbourne and it’s traditional that the riders that have served and performed over the year are present. Last years finale against Mildenhall was cancelled altogether and we are still awaiting the outcome of the SCBs ‘full investigation’. We don’t need another disappointment this year. hammer1969 421 Posted September 23, 2019 If Eastie move the meeting to 5th October it will clash with BT coverage of the GP and that will affect the crowd big time. The rules say Premiership get priority on Monday and Thursdays the Championship get priority the other days. Why should Eastbourne and their fans suffer it's the last meeting of our season and we deserve to have our team there.
HGould 2,213 Posted September 23, 2019 Number of Brummies fans out of pocket when original Fixture cancelled in early August after BSPA told Eastie to ride KOC Tie. Would be a bit unfair to cancel again when a number of us have again booked Hotels for Saturday night. Not Easties fault but not sure Brummies would agree to cancelling again any way. And that would apply if it was the other way round, which leagues the meetings are in is irrelevant.

The meetings are not irrelevant to us fans though, play offs or not we support our team and deserve to see our team regardless of which league they are in. The root cause of all this problem is the doubling up to which no one seems to have a solution.
Seathestars 2 Posted September 23, 2019 Ritchie Hawkins has tweeted to say Richard Lawson will ride for Ipswich on Saturday ,that's if both meetings go ahead of course.
