cityrebel 2,960 Posted March 10, 2020 Maybe the powers that be should put back the start of the season by a month. If the epidemic intensifies, no one will be travelling anywhere.

Many are banning "mass gatherings" as political decisions made by Government because they think they know best! In UK we seem to be basing on decisions of Health professionals. Their current opinion is that the virus passes and transfers less well in fresh air and that there is less risk in a big crowd (up to 70,000 has been quoted) than in a small confined indoor place with 10 people. Who is right and who is wrong, a Health professional or a professional politician. (time will tell). Interested to know who the ‘many’ countries are that are making political decisions, rather than taking advice from Health experts ? One of the worlds leading experts is advising the German government and has been at the news conferences with the Health Minister https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/03/mutations-can-reveal-how-coronavirus-moves-they-re-easy-overinterpret Also reading the ‘current opinion’ of Sir Patrick Vallance , what he say’s is and this is important and what you leave out, is that it MAY be less likely, not that there ‘is less risk’ Edited March 10, 2020 by iris123

Sadly, in one way, that is how it was at The Dirt Track Show last weeeknd at King;s Lynn. I hugely enjoyed the brilliant new young generation of speedway riders ( Oh Max Perry! ) and the 2 Brothers Stunt Show 9/10 on Saturday, but I was the only person in one part of the Disabled seating. And no one was with two or thteee metres. But a very poor turn out in good weather conditions.

It will be interesting to see what happens as a result of the Notts Forest owner testing positive for the virus. And will Amanda Castagna be allowed to attend FIM and SGP meetings? 9 hours ago, Mimmo said: You would have thought not in the case of Castagna. As for people like Covatti that have presumably recently returned from their homeland, have they been medically checked? Covatti returns to Britain from his homeland ARGENTINA, where he has spent the winter months!

Thats good news then as he's in Middlo's line-up on 25th March. So I guess neither he nor his family will be going to (or back from) the family home in Italy then?! Rightly so. Olympiakos owner has been in UK for 2 weeks.. and seems caught it in the UK. All Olympiakos staff and players have tested negative. There has been a death from Covid-19 in Wolverhampton.. zero in Athens. 373 cases in UK... 80 in Greece... 0 in Athens I believe. Game being played behind closed doors. They're 'safer' there than here... not that they are in any danger whatsoever anyway. Edited March 11, 2020 by BWitcher
