Grand Final 2nd leg Ipswich vs Leicester
Col replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not a bad watch, fair play for Leicester for keeping it interesting throughout the meeting despite losing at home. Think Lions can consider themselves a little unlucky in the early heats. Congratulations to the Witches on their first title since TRick, Gollob & Clouting! -

Why did he do that ? Surely your not saying the guest rider accepted a Premiership winning medal after riding in a single meeting ๐ -

as this year has proved there is no such thing as 'last rising star pick'. -

Yes i noticed that too, ive always thought if i was a rider who came in as a guest just for a final to replace an injured rider who had ridden all season if that injured rider doesnt also get a medal i would hand over mine to him, out of interest do injured riders actually recieve a medal? -

While Speedway is very much a numbers game it is also about completing 4 laps. As I've said before I absolutely hate riders not completing 4 laps when they are clearly able to do so and last night it all came home to roost, some will say it didn't make any difference in the eventual outcome, but sport is all about the moment and had Lions needed a 5-1 instead of a 5-0 in that last race that's a whole different ball game mentally. Kemp has displayed attitude problems throughout his career, will he learn from last night? Personally I doubt it, his attitude is in his make up, I do hope he learns from it... just not at Leicester. Whether Mr Dickson sees it the same way I wouldn't be so sure... he looked very prepared to take Nick Morris back during the summer and did so with Berwick. -
Feels like a pretty impossible task - but I am hopeful of at least a good meeting. I think Flint and Trigger are decent picks. If we somehow come out and hit a couple of early heat advantages then you never know, but I think the focus just has to be on winning the meeting itself which will be tough enough. A bit of the shame how the season has ended for us, but still a chance of picking up at least 1 trophy.

WooHoo Witches!!! Absolutely marvellous! Son #1 and I watched it this afternoon (Friday) here in sunny Perth Hills. What a fascinating meeting to finish, with incidents, talking points, and a superb team effort by the Witches: only six heat winners - yet by six different riders; top men looking for their partners; the engine room coming up with the goods - Brennan and Rew scoring decisive 5-1s, King taking care of Heat 8; and the reserves taking points off their opposite numbers. Really can't ask for more - huge congrats to Chris Louis, in particular, for never giving up ๐ Cheers! - Today

GP line-up for 2026

Okay, there's a bit to unpack here... I don't agree that BZ's high appearance fee is nonsense as a self employed person myself I adjust my prices according as to what my customers can afford, I don't charge the factory down the road the same as I charge multl-billion pound financial institutions, not if I want the factory down the roads' business. Yes I do want to see the World Champion in emerging Speedway nations like Argentina & France. Apart from Australia tracks can be found in Poland, United Kingdom (Great Britain), Sweden, Denmark, Argentina, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa. I gave you 2 examples of individual events BZ has yet to ride in the PCMT in UK and Czech Golden Helmet, 2 prestigious individual events and you could argue that the decline in the other big events like the Gold Bar etc is due to the high appearance fees from riders. I agree if riders are riding over in Poland and taking the Polish coin the least they could do is learn some Polish language effectively enough to communicate even if it's only "jestem bardzo szczฤลliwy" (me big happy? ๐) You may not like it but English is the international language and generally used as the international standard, if you want to be a world star and have cut through with the media around the world you need to be speaking in English. Cristiano Ronaldo didn't have a great grasp of English when he played for Manchester United but as he became a world star learnt it and has a much better media cut through than Lionel Messi because of this. Look at F1, all press conferences conducted in English and all drivers completely fluent in the language. If Speedway wants any media cut through at all and wants to expand its reach it's essential that the World Champion at least speaks English and is also seen outside of Poland. -

I'm hoping Czestochowa get thrown out of the league and replaced by Bydgoszcz tbh. Would be embarrassing for all involved if Czestochowa are allowed to compete in the top flight next season with that team. -

Kemp has put the greatest percentange on his starting average at Leicester (based on the October Averages) and has put the largest amount on his starting average. Up 0.89 in comparison to Douglas +0.82 and Fricke +0.75. -

Kemp is one of the reasons throughout the season that they reached the Final though ,he had issues which can happen, others didnโt exactly ride to form in Final without blaming it solely on Kemp. -

Leicester have suffered in the Premiership for always having one of the latest rising star picks. And next season will be no different if there is no change in the rules. Joe Thompson had twelve rides across the semi final and final and did not score a single point. It makes the performance of the team even more remarkable when you take this into consideration. Congratulations to Ipswich who had the strongest 1-7 and were worthy of the favourites title many gave them at the start of the season -

As an Ipswich fan I think heat 3 could have gone either way With regards to heat 14 Thompson had bike issues .. he changed to his second bike for his 4th ride and that slowed dramatically in the heat allowing Kemp to catch him and pass him By heat 14 we only needed a finisher in each race to secure the title so putting in edwards would not have made a difference unless its a 5-0 -
