Great effort from the boys last night just failing in the final, you wouldn't think PK was retiring at the end of the season his ride in the semi final to hold off Rocketman was awesome

Was pencilled in but sorting a line up out has proved too hard at such short notice.

Bit late on this one but the racing at Thruxton was just fantastic in all classes. Cadwell was very good too. Young Bayliss looks like a chip off the old block, very fast but very aware of waiting for the right time to put in maximum effort.

Another mickey mouse meeting . Get the young riders need to get experience abroad and racing against European riders, but yet again British speedway fans suffer for this.

Have to agree while Poole looked solid enough in the heats, they never looked great. Had they made it through to the final Oxford would still have been my favourite to win. I kinda wonder if this evening might prove to be significant to Lawson's future at Poole, face it the semi wasn't pretty from the Rocketman's perspective, his race craft is strong but when it comes to laying it all out on the line he seems to holds back. (I do however sympathise bearing in mind his circumstances).

Well done to Oxford, consistently the best all evening. Not a single crash all evening (despite Charles Wright doing his best!) on a track that the majority of riders said was in good order.

Never mind MM, the Oxford pair were consistently the best all night and deserved the win. Meanwhile the play off semi final dates,we're also announced - Poole v Edinburgh Weds 16th Sept Edinburgh v Poole Fri 18th Sept.

Euro under 19s Final on Saturday so he's travelling to Slovenia (Cairns and Rushen are both in it too)

As I understand it...Villads Nagel, Ben Basso, Andreas Lyager and another Dane who's name escapes me at the moment (I've got Mikkel Michelsens name in my head but fairly sure he'd be too high an average). Too many fixture clashes seemed to be the issue. NB I'm not a part of the club so I can't be 100% on who was or wasn't spoken to, those were the names I heard. I get the basic aim of the rule, but it does seem silly that no one thought about riders that retire or get badly hurt (sadly both aren't unheard of in speedway). Also a general lack of heat leader level riders wanting to ride in the UK doesn't help matters. Punishing Glasgow for Kyle retiring just before the signing deadline doesn't feel fair but speedway has a long history of strange decisions, so who knows what will happen?

The winner of this event, Ossi Rantala was also part of the Varkaus team, which won the Finnish Pairs Speedway Championship this weekend. Were it not for speedway being at such a low ebb in Finland, I suspect he would have the talent to go far in the sport...

Lawson cost Poole a place in the final by not just racing and forgetting what was going on behind him. Always a good race @LisaColette especially when pilots get beat at home in the semi final 😜🙃
