  2. No this is where people are getting mixed up, the old agreement does not and would not financially be able to be taken over by the speedway. Hence that one is ripped up and put in the bin and a new speedway only lease has been agreed at a sensible rate for the amount of use the speedway has at the stadium. Its then up to stadium owners to try and do a new greyhound deal to make up the difference
  3. It didn't happen due to the weather. However I don't know what richings average is or if its lower than bowtells and if it is does, Spooner could then fit. Spooner currently doesn't have a team to ride for and can not guest in a league match but is also being given the track time he needs. Not all riders without a team place are new to the sport.
  4. The Championship will do them good, and they will learn a lot there. With Lynn giving them both a place in the Prem this season, hopefully they stay loyal in the future.
  5. If it swelled up more or less straight away and in quite a bit of pain, bet it's ligaments, had exactly the same at moto cross a long time ago, did take a long time to sort of mend so obviously hope it's not that for Vinnie.
  6. I would expect a new agreement has been reached for just the speedway at a heavily reduced figure which may suit the land owners aswell. The original lease was for 15 years I believe but I could be wrong on that so the new lease for the speedway might only be short term. Gallard Homes can now say the stadium is not profitable and it will help there case to redevelop the land.
  7. I should imagine most stadiums would not be viable running without revenue coming in from either stockcars or greyhounds. Buster owns Kings Lynn stadium but if it was not for stockcars it would fold.
  8. I suppose if it was the other one, you'd be Whitelinesnorter
  9. A few years ago I suggested fitting a thick webbing strap with a fastening (buckle ?) , as seen on 'artics' / 18 wheelers holding the cover onto trailors, at either end and / or in the centre of each air fence panel to help stop them lifting on impact. Air fences or similar will almost always be attached to a solid barrier but after however many years of use they really shouldn't lift or be immediately forced upwards in the event of a crash....
  10. Today
  11. Is Dillon still riding last I remember he had a hand injury and never seemed to come back from it, shame if I'm right as he was developing into a really tidy rider who could have had a decent career in UK and maybe Poland if he continued progressing at the rate he showed in his last two years in the UK. I think he also ended up on a 5.5 ish average which made it hard for him to fit in anywhere as he was still a reserve but heading towards second string status.
  12. The stadium Lease / rent was for £xxx a few weeks ago shared by speedway and the dogs, which the dogs appeared to pay the majority share via streaming fees, now the rent has to be found by speedway, which is totally not viable, so troubling times ahead
  13. Oxford Speedway Ltd have apparently reached an agreement to continue to operate at the stadium (obviously who with only they know). The debt, I believe, is owed by Oxford Stadium Limited. The stadium is owned by Galliards, so maybe they have come to an agreement over the lease payment for at least this season. Beyond that, who knows…
  14. Why would the speedway need to find the 2 million debt, that’s an absurd thing to say! It’s quite simple really, the speedway now need to do their own lease agreement with the stadium owners rather than through a third party which included the dogs. As far as I know this new arrangement is agreed and it’s all systems go for the rest of the season.
  15. can the speedway run without the dogs as it might have to. the GBGB (Greyhound board of great britain) have already removed Oxford from the latest calendar published on friday. so the dogs are 100% finised there i imagine. can the speedway find the 2 million debt?????
  16. It's actually a very good preview... Just two months out on the date...

  18. Not really true - the way they have to be ridden today though is different. I remember Chris Louis saying he'd not like to ride todays bikes as they only really suit slick or consistent tracks, full throttle all the way, as you'd ride in Poland but in years gone by more throttle control won you races and you could use grippy/slick parts of the track to your advantage more. Seats are also much higher these days. The issue with any fence is that you go from 60mph to zero in a short space of time so injuries will happen no matter what but we do see more use of the wide outside lines than ever before (where only the very brave/skilled would tread), which could be the feeling of safety brought about by air fences.
  19. It will work for Poole in the 2nd tier, however a trifle too much for the top tier to carry both. Paco is a no go and was always gonna be.However I understand it is a numbers game and he maybe the only one whose average fitted.
