SGB Championship 2027 Confirmed Signings
TigerIain replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxford are the stronger top 3, what progress Flint, Thompson and Kileen do or don't make will determine who is the stronger top 4. The big question is what back up can these clubs give their top 4? Big pressure on the top 4 to deliver heat wins unless they can find a bottom 3 to punch above their weight. Both could lose a lot of 5-1s in heats 2 and 8, putting pressure on their 3 and 4 pairing to deliver heat advantages to get them in position to win in heats 13 and 15. I suspect that both are too top heavy to win the playoffs. -
It's not easy to judge Riss as he's had a few illness effected seasons, but given his previous scores for Oxford, seems a worthwhile pick as a second string on his reduced converted average. It's also less risky being signed by a Prem club than a Champ club (same scenario as Craig Cook) as its easier to find a spare second string for the Prem, than a heat leader for the Champ.

010.2.3 Amended MA’s With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: - a) riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (the table in 10.2.2 will be used as a reference, the MA may be increased or decreased) Kim has been away for more than 3 seasons. The BSP Ltd will use table 10.2.2 for reference. Kim’s average may be increased. Nothing needs rewriting or if it does, please advise. I’d be more than happy for Ipswich to included 37 year old (at the start of the season) Kim in their squad.

It seems certain people know who grmek is signing for and how much he's being paid, amazing how they find this stuff out.
-
I don't like the rule as it benefits riders who "abandon" British Speedway rather than the ones who race every season. I could understand increasing an average as a rider may have improved, but wouldn't lower aves.

What’s utterly disappointing is that if there is a smell of silverware some fans will allow there management to do whatever the hell they like. Rarely if ever do they respond to a point with clear logic and links to back it up favouring bad language and name calling. During my time on here I’ve had these conversations with fans from Coventry, Birmingham, Eastbourne, Lakeside, Oxford, Peterborough, Reading, Rye House, Somerset, Swindon & Wolverhampton.

I see that myself, wasn’t he or she a reliable poster here too? And if memory serves me right, got their information from Rob Lyon? I could be completely making that up! The Lynn fans will probably know. @Bagpuss

No idea, just been told its a no no for 2027, lets hope for 2028.
- Today

Even better with a 12 point average
-
Even better today that GP rider would look good if his bike allowed him to do a few laps

Don't forget hankies 😄 -
Think that’ll be more accurate! And would you bet against them now hastily altering the regs for 2027?
-
Any idea on which league M.D ?
-
Five Promoters (on speaker) - "Hi Richard, I believe you've signed Kim Nilsson and want him on a 4.5 average?" Richard - "Yes that's right" Five Promoters - "And why do you think that this should be allowed?".. Richard - "Because its in the regs, the regs most of you wrote".. (30 seconds pause).. One of the Five Promoters - 'Quick! Someone get me an effing pen"!!!

Socks and Underpants -
Hope to see as many of you as possible next Saturday at the speedway show, a couple more teams and riders have joined and if nothing else is a good catch up, one other thing which I think sums up the mentality that is rife in the BSPL,a response to an email to the organisers from a promotion said”that time of year is time to sit back and forget about speedway” well when their supporters think it’s time to forget about speedway of which judging by their crowds most have who have they got to blame
-
You mean everyone. Not our lot as you say.
-
It's sour grapes though Phil. The way your lot are going on anyone would think Mayfield are signing Lindgren on a 6.00.
-
Close but no cigar
-
Phil -> Hi, Mark Mark -> G'day Phil -> Not Really Pal, It's a bad day because I'm still gutted about Dan. Mark -> Aren't we all, It's a good job that I'm an Aussie otherwise we would've lost Brady to them as well. Phil -> I know right, Have you heard about Nilsson? If yes then you need to stop this from happening. Mark -> I'll see what I can do, No promises though. Phil -> Thanks, Pal. Mark -> No worries.

Championship Season Tickets 2027
Fortythirtyeight posted a topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I normally acquire at least two season tickets for the three clubs I spectate at, Workington, Berwick and Redcar, but with a postponed AGM and family asking “what do I want for Christmas? “ when am I going to know the details for 2027 ? Number of home fixtures ? what nights are the fixtures? Who's in the league ? Are there going to be any NDL teams I can follow ? Should I just settle for socks and underpants ? -
I mean. Everyone already knows. So now will be no different to later
