To win that is some effort from the Bandits, I have to say with decent guests or without injuries they could have won at Edinburgh the previous night and got the bonus point tonight, possibly keeping the playoff hopes alive. It wasn't to be though and hopefully the three Aussies form the basis of a 2027 lineup.

Glasgow Tigers Vs Poole Pirates 21st August
foreverblue replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
But that cannot be the total answer, we get big crowds because when we win, the Fords are winners, they dont accept failure. It has happened throughout their history whichever league we were in. Their passion for the Poole team rubs off on everyone. I do not think we would have had the success we have had without that winning mentality. Workington may not have the fanbase Poole have and the population in the locality maybe smaller but you must also come to the conclusion if they were winning and at the other end of the table, more people would attend. -
He said give Reid the ride instead of Palovaara. That would have meant they still had the T/S available to give to Morris if still 6 behind later. Surely not hard to understand?

But the population in say a 10 / 15 mile radius of Poole would probably equate to the population of Cumbria. Then all the money in the Poole surrounding area will mean more and bigger sponsorship. Where worky and say Berwick are in very rural areas so haven't got the big money sponsorships available. -
Well it did rain for 2 hours mid afternoon and that is where the water drains down to. Both teams walked the track so knew what the conditions were like. We get it you don't like Scorpions with your usual bad mouthing, but we don't mind as we won and got the aggregate point! Play offs here we come.

Kemp was good at scunny but poor tonight, seems to always have a good meeting and a bad meeting, but always seems to have bike issues in either league, where batch never seems to break down. To be more consistent bike issues need to be sorted
-
I can’t speak to the rest of it but the crowd numbers at Berwick have looked to be a lot better than last year and very consistent, it’s been busy and a great atmosphere all year. The Berwick social media team have been doing a good job and it really helps that we have been unbeaten at home so far. And have made it to the latter stages of two competitions. I’ve absolutely 0 knowledge of the financial situation of the bandits but the attendance has been good and most in the crowd seem pretty upbeat and positive.

You never give a reserve a t/s, he can take the ride whatever the score!

Personally I love the play offs, riders usually give their absolute best and it is great to watch. -
A wins a win, but I’ll still say running r/r for your No 1 is a big risk , I hope Workingtons no 1 is ok if he stays fit on the night who knows what could of happened,I would like to get the comets fan’s opinion on kemp as he really looked like he could not be arsed has that been a regular thing this season? Fair play to Batchelor though he gets stuck in
-
I couldn’t understand that switch, personally I’d I’ve put Morris in Ht 9

Reid had a full seven rides tonight. Jye would have been a better T/S than Victor though.

I'm definitely in two minds over the league playoffs. Logically we have a league, a knockout and a hybrid competition(BSN) three different formats kind of testing different attributes of a team. So maybe it should be left at that? BUT the playoffs give us more club speedway to watch and like TheWellBehavedWorall says has dealt up some outstanding finals, last year at Ashfield and the year before at Wimborne Road. So on balance let's carry on and enjoy the playoffs. -
Not the first time. These capitulations have been happening for the last few years. Many times the Bears have been in good positions to win matches and then just fall apart.Too many inconsistent riders, sticking with them every season and bad team changes.I think they need to look at who is being allowed to make these decisions?
-
Good result for the Bandits considering their team tonight thought Stewart had blown it giving Victor the T/S surely would have been better being Reid

So Rowe of Sheffield guests FOR Ipswich after guesting AGAINST them for Leicester in the previous meeting His performance in each meeting will potentially affect who makes the play offs and in which position (including his own team) Just as well it means the lesser part of feck all in the scheme of things -
Very frustrating watch that. Less said the better. Well done to Vinnie who has had a tough season and to Niklas who deserved another ride at least. He looked as comfortable as anyone tonight, his best meeting for the Comets on a very tight track, he impressed greatly for his first time there. Batch showed just what a professional rider he is, his equipment very rarely lets him down. Easily our best rider over the two meetings.
