  2. You are correct. Instead of stating “nor the team who lost the least” I should have said “and the team who lost the least” to best describe why maybe Lions should have been regarded as the best team of the regular season and not Tigers. However all pretty academic really as rules are rules and so congratulations to Tigers for finishing top of the league - after all “the table never lies” - and here’s hoping the final is as close as the semi-final between Lions & Tigers.
  3. They ride together at Poznan. I'm surprised Smektala is 27yo, I remember him being a highly rated youngster at a similar time to Kubera.
  4. Do Douglas & Smektala ride together on the continent? Except for U21 World Cup at Belle Vue many years ago I can't recall him riding in UK before. Maybe a GP qualifier at Glasgow.
  5. Certainly not outclassed, seemed to get better as the meeting progressed and won his penultimate ride. Looked like he was riding Dougy's kit. Leicester not the easiest of tracks to get to grips with but he got on okay with it without being spectacular, could be worth a punt as a 3rd heat leader somewhere, but I bet he ain't cheap.
  6. The post that I quoted from you said that Tigers were not the team who lost the least. That is an incorrect statement. I have no dispute with Leicester having the beating of us this year. That was definitely the semi final we didn't want.
  7. Clearly from someone who has no clue about Poland 😂 immigration they are better than us in, road networks, policing their streets. I would feel safer living in Poland than in England, unfortunately some chose to leave the EU so now we are locked in the country with 3rd world citizens 😁 instead of locking them out of our country.

  9. In all honesty, we should be thankful it's Poland who's calling the shots. What did we actually manage in the late 90s/00s when GB was in control? Everything Poland has now should've been GB, with the Sky deal, the top riders, the money, etc., etc. We ended up with green helmet covers, pissing money up the wall on one rider, and zero investment in fundamental parts of the sport.
  10. Thanks for all your efforts, really enjoy them ,bonus was so many on Scottish Speedway which brought back so many memories.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Did any team loose less matches than Leicester? No and no team won more. So It’s difficult to agree with the claim that Sheffield, who the Lions beat on numerous occasions including the playoffs were the best team this year. But congratulations to Tigers for finishing top of the league (somehow)

    50,000 Up!

Sad to hear it’s the last one, Doug. Many thanks for all the interesting articles you’ve published, it has been much appreciated.
  14. Wonder what would have been had Berwick started with with seven riders they finished with? Morris on a steal for next year. And a top 3 as good as any.
  15. Thanks, followed your advice and it is a great view if sometimes dusty. Had a great night chatting to some bears fans. From an Oxford point of view a great fight back on Friday and a victory today.
  16. Just been catching up on some of the comments particularly by non Glasgow fans, good to know you were concerned about the Tigers. Thought I'd just say well done to young Max Perry.
  17. And so was the comments made to the club. If only people knew how much the club has done for him throughout the season
  18. 26 plus 2 bonus points out of a maximum of 30 from his 10 rides, you have to say Kyle Howarth was the on fire over both legs, without his performance at Armadale it would have been all over after the 1st leg
  19. That’s not true aside from other sports like basketball the country is a far better place than Britain is now, although it still behind financially but maybe that’s the problem, money, interestingly I was just reading about sport in Poland, the article was written last year and it had speedway down as 4th most popular but it was down as motorcycle racing and the most popular pole was Tomasz gollob, no mention of zmarzlik
  20. Had to watch heat 10 again, couldn't figure out how Fricke passed Laguta, but didn't see Laguta front wheel lift.
  21. Speedway is literally the only thing in the world that Britain is behind Poland in. That should be evidence enough that we’re not running speedway right here. If we were then we’d be calling the shots.
