Why is speedway in decline?
Toady replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That’s fair enough. I was simply suggesting other options for those who mentioned the lack of TV output dampened their passion. The main reason seems to be the closure of your local track. I get that as it is number one at the top of the page. I wonder if it was to reopen; perhaps it could reignite your interest? -

IMO being optimistic to even consider Monarchs might get the bonus, imo we'll be doing well to win, given r/r for Lambert @ no2 (Edwards, Mulford, Scottx2?) will probably score more than Simon would be expected to get. -
To slow mate, it's already taken place😄

Buster is probably trying to sort out an open top bus at this very moment!

It's obvious Bash, Paul Hurry is like a Reserve Team Manager, the 1st team manager leaves, and you bring in a stand in, that's how Hurry looks, like a fish out of water, a choice that surprised most, but as The Messiah Coleman has said, they were left in the last minute.com section, so Manager and Team was scraped together. Just don't believe all you hear Bash on that situation. I agree on Scotty, maybe if Scotty is Manager, then Paul Hurry will be in the team.....But i Quote....AGAIN, keep spending your money in 2026, it's going to be tough, but judge me a year later, so that's what we all have to do....I will just leave..Edward Kennett and Michael Palm-Toft....Then when Kennett decided Ipswich and Hurry weren't for him, out comes Coleman and Hurry backing Bangs.....Week Later Bangs is gone. Just an opinion, ive supported the Witches long enough to have my doubts on Coleman.....But i have no doubts on Hurry at all.......

And neither of the top two leagues have any relevance or resonance... Change that, and it would definitely be worth watching and investing emotionally, and financially in.. Sweden on a Tuesday and Poland on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, delivering jeopardy, consequence, and great racing, each week, (plus the GP's) is more than enough for me.. Watching UK Speedway "just going through the motions" hardly inspires you to subscribe.. - Today

Couldn’t agree more with you. I’ve banged on about this before but been told it’s not possible. Obviously too complicated this speedway business. To think they found a covid vaccine in a couple of months…. -
I thought a 28 day facility, meant a minimum of 28 days, not a maximum as most seem to assume. Anyone confirm or deny this?

That was the first time we've ever won a league match at Sheffield since the two clubs started competing against each other 1966. In fact we've only ever won another two meetings at Owlerton, one being a KOC in 1976, and the other a BSPA Cup in 1992.

Think it’ll be close this one, Bonus will depend on what version of Klindt turns up for the bears. -

I have no interest in buying a stream. I've no idea what is going on any more so why would I? When there were matches on TV, and I knew the teams, I might occasionally have enough interest to buy one - but even that has gone now. No speedway on TV has killed it off to me. It's hard for me to believe now that I was once obsessed with this sport. -
And then you have Klindt scoring just 3 points so don’t see how you can criticise Batch on 5 points

A chance for Scunny to move to the top of the table tonite if we beat Oxford All riders as planned apart from Oxfords Mitch McDiarmid is riding Sgp2?..Sam Hagon guests.... Weathers says it gonna be nearly 29 degrees,,,,im predicting 55..35

I guess MPT being a former Plymouth ruder, Battye having never ridden there before & Smith being notoriously bad there, I can agree with the guest choice. Mind you if MPT helps Berwick to am away win, that could harm Scunthorpe's play-off hopes 🤔

Totally agree. It's the same for both teams & up to the riders to adapt. -
Northampton v Belle Vue 9/7/26
szkocjasid replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd say there's a difference between being competitive & being successful. Northampton haven't been successful, but mostly have been competitive. How I'd explain it is a rider with 4 last places, but only losing out on the line is competitive, a rider half a lap behind isn't. Likewise a team losing by 2 or 4 points each week is competitive, losing by 20 or 30 points isn't? -

A home defeat is a home defeat is a home defeat. The league table doesn't have asterisks for effort and bad luck. It doesn't make one want to attend the next meeting, knowing that it will be the same again. Changes needed, at team manager and at reserve, at least! -

Don't forget the huge difference in prize money between finishing second from bottom or third from bottom! Arthur Fery is now guaranteed £900,000, irrespective of his result this afternoon. Indeed he was guaranteed £80,000 just for reaching the First round - I don't imagine the British Speedway Premiership Champions actually get anything except a medal ... -

On Witches Facebook responding to a taunt from a Witches fan about retiring at the back, Kemp said he lost his steel shoe in one race and had a puncture in another. I'm guessing his fall was tactical - certainly the sort of thing John Berry would have expected, e.g. if we can't get a 5-1, then keeping us 6 behind for a tactical is the next best ...
