Is the anomaly due to not competing in enough meetings for average to take effect.
-
Which shows the standard across the board was pretty similar. Averaging out the averages would just iron out the few anomalies.

Scunthorpe 2026
phillwhitewasmad replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Really don't see what the problem is with this the reduction however it was worked out has allowed us to sign Simon lambert with what was left. According to most forum members we are going to be so far adrift in the runnings it seems a debate for debates sake. -
Speedway fans have always preferred regular weekly home meetings, whilst I appreciate theres too many Friday clubs ( should never have allowed Scunthorpe or Glasgow to change ) theres just too many blank weeks in the key summer months. Its all right the management saying the dates are reserved for this and that but what happens if you dont qualify for this and that ? Can see crowds dwindling this season.

Glasgow shows the way

Just heard that theres a two day training session at Glasgow on a MONDAY and TUESDAY starting at 8 am . Im guessing the kids must all be off school then ? - Today

Thorssell on a 4.50 would compensate for not having a No.1. Jacob's basically a No.3 in this standard of competition imo.

Scunthorpe 2026

So let me just check this so i can pretend to follow along..... 2024 Ablitt finished season on 5.04 less 2.5% reduction..... 2025 Ablitt didn't ride "professional league" still gets 2.5% reduction 2026 Ablitt can "apply" for an additional 8% reduction In my tiny mind he shouldn't get the 2.5% at the end of 2025 simply because he didn't participate and then be able to claim an additional 8% for......not participating...... There has to be a point where the actions of a few are considered to be bringing the sport into disrepute -
100%. Mayfield have potentially played a blinder here, Ipswich or Northampton will be laughing if a deal gets done.
-
Thers no major discrepancies between the two sets of averages except for Simpson NT 4.50 vs NL 8.42 and Loftus NT 3.00 vs NL 8.39
-
I'd agree with that

Ipswich Witches 2026

I agree - almost as bonkers as Cooper on a 2 would be -
Thorssell on a 4.50 is absolutely ridiculous.
-
That is what I thought 😂

These guys forget it is a sport,go and get a job if it’s that bad. They are earning good money for 6 months work for 10 minutes on a bike on race night. No sympathy I’m afraid.
-
The problem is having a van and five bikes is feasible if your riding in Poland but in the UK these days in my eyes reality is the top 50% can warrant a van and two bikes next 50% should be one bike and ideally a track spare the costs have got out of control for what the UK can afford now days not helped by riders in the UK spending thousands per annum on tuning. At some point a total reset will have to happen but it seems to have been kicked again for at least another year unless Harry comes through with some new multi million pound backers to sort the sport out.
-
Good luck with that.... I think someone with a better grasp of the rules may explain why it SHOULDN'T happen!!!... The official answer of course is that... "This is UK Speedway"...
-
I imagine it does cost a lot money to be a speedway rider but I also know it costs a fortune to be a performing musician. Which is what I am. I've lost thousands over the years, but I've done it for 15 years because I love it.. speedway riders get paid. Paid well. I don't have much sympathy for a rider like Charles. I do for the younger riders but not the established ones.

...at 5.30 pm!

Wasn't grumbling when he picked up around £8k for 2 filler GP appearances last year. 🤔
-
7.07-7.23 Left for a No.5 depending on the No.6. Should go all out for Lawson 6.81 if building to win at Home, In 3 of his 4 visits to Foxhall last season, Richard put up (9), (11+1) and (13) 1. T. Brennan 7.05 2. S. Nicholls 5.25 3. T. Musielak 6.63 4. D. King 6.50 5. 6. J. Thorssell 4.50 / J. Jenkins 4.49 / J. Jeppesen 4.34 7. J. Edwards (RS)
-
Is adding the percentage reductions together before application within the rules? It certainly doesn’t seem fair. I know it’s not a huge difference but it is different. Maybe someone with a better grasp of the rules could explain.
-
Freddie 8.13 Thorsell 4.50 Rew 6.19 Musielak 6.63 Brennan 7.05 Jeppesen 4.34 Edwards r/s 36.84 do well that 🤪😂
-
Jacob Thorsell last achieved an average in 2019 and therefore we will reassess him to 4.50. Robert Lambert last achieved an average in 2019 and therefore we will not reassess him to 4.50.
-
But he does have the Polish ride. Seems a bit woe is me I must say. He's been one of many prime benefactors of the doubling up free for all of the last 15 odd years.
-
He would be the steal of the season if they can pull it off, if they could get Fred back over in place of Emil also I reckon crowds would hold pretty well.
