  2. It costs millions to convert the stadium back from the football configuration to an oval, so could only be feasible if timed to coincide with other events https://www.google.com/search?q=what+does+it+cost+to+convert+the+london+stadium+back+to+an+athletics+track&oq=what+does+it+cost+to+convert+the+london+stadium+back+to+an+athletics+track&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCTM4MzY3ajBqN6gCFLACAfEF_SOs6C3bhD7xBf0jrOgt24Q-&client=ms-android-google&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8&sei=DHwmav3VMKu4hbIPpMD_6Ao#lfId=ChxjMe
  3. I do think going back to 6/7 rounds makes more sense. I'm also still not sure why we have two consecutive GP's in Manchester either, so the idea of having one in London if we need to have two would be more interesting.
  4. Would prob agree with that,Edinburgh very good team this year and We will lose a bit of strength at reserve so 50-40 seems about right, think they will put Cooper to no4 in a straight away with Kyle.
  5. Wimbledon Centre Court it is then.
  6. Irrespective of many people not being able to watch due to technical difficulties, they should think themselves lucky as they did not have to endure the abysmal camera coverage and woeful commentary. Only when replays of the races were shown from different angles could you appreciate any race as then you could see what was happening. Do not even go their with the commentary. As many have already posted, BSN leaves a lot to be desired even if it is the last stand TV coverage.
  7. OK, I made a mistake and poor judgment, I apologised for it and as I said, didn't mean any harm by it.
  8. It's almost the perfect venue, it's the right shape for starters, it's in London, placed in a better location than Wembley, really easy to get to, with a lower capacity than Wembley & Cardiff. The reasons why not, there's only 14 operational tracks in the UK these days, when BSI took the "gamble" of taking the British GP to Cardiff in 2001 there were at least 24 operational tracks in the UK. Brandon was selling out at about 12,000 (with a lot of Poles attending) and the move to Cardiff really did spark a boom in the whole GP series with more rounds being introduced and also rounds being held in "destination" cities, there'd be no Copenhagen, Ullevi, Stockholm, Warsaw etc without Cardiff but they're all gone now. Maybe they need to go backwards in order to move forwards and reduce the number of rounds back to 6 or 7 at more prestige city destinations... oh and there's no roof 😁
  9. The talent pool was spread much wider in those days thanks to the number of tracks, so if you did have talent, it was much easier to achieve a higher average. Now with only 6 teams in the top league that "talent" is now much more compacted meaning it's far harder to achieve such an average as Lee did and also unfortunately many more of the riders in today's field will never get anywhere near a career out of the sport.
  10. Yes but this Edinburgh team are quite a bit short of that Redcar team and I think we will win fairly easily.
  11. Today
  12. Reminds me of Poole’s last meeting of 2025 against Redcar. Two down from first leg with everyone expecting a relatively easy home win and Bears upset the apple cart. Pirates will need to be switched on from the off to make sure of progress as the Monarchs are a very capable team this season.
  13. As far as I’m aware , they have already held motorsport events at the stadium. And West Ham could certainly use the extra revenue now that they’re down with the stiffs 😁
  14. Possible GP venue ? Any reason why not ?
  15. The weekend was a success as was last year . Great racing with nobody ever 100% comfortable where they’d finish more or less. As good as it was though, there’s something huge missing now as we are crying out for that showpiece event in this country, hopefully in London. Absolutely no coverage of the weekend anywhere that I could see . In London, who knows, maybe ?

  17. Its been well documented that he is permanently in pain as well, that and quite possibly some strong pain meds won't help
  18. Not yet. I forgot to mention that in addition to next year’s SON and SON 2 finals Vastervik will hold the Swedish GP in 2028 and 2029.

  20. When you say better temperament, I take it you're talking about Lee? Mick Lee, at 16, finished his first season at Boston with an average of 9.13. The following year (17), he finished the season with an average of 9.22 in the British League Division One, which, imo, was the hardest league in the world at the time. He was also the British U21 champion that year. Following season (18), topped the averages in the British League with an average of 10.64. Also won the senior British Final and was part of England's winning World Team Cup, and made his 1st world final. Cooper is a great talent, but a bit premature to say he's the next Mark Loram or Mick Lee, imo.
  21. Kubera is an appallingly boring gating tart. Thomsen is better. This is true. But it was either him or Nicholls who hadn't done a thing for years (ever). As 2nd Brit with Harris. Had 2012 out GPs but won title in 2013... which he wouldn't have done but for Sayfutdinov injury. Landshut was far better 2nd night. Musielak still has Birmingham meetings in his rolling average. King will surely be Witches #1 when it's all 2026.
  22. But is this forum the place the promote the sport?
  23. Will Dan be on the pace from the get-go? Joe Thompson for Paco? Should be a good evening at Wimborne Road, if you're a Pirate fan. -2 deficit is totally doable.
  24. Woot. Guessing you don't have dates? My family are in the process of booking Florida for first 2 weeks of August 2027.
