  1. Past hour
  2. Concentrate on your spelling pal before we worry about our team. We’ve just got into November, the season is at least 5 months away.
  3. The 3 U21 who raced for Wroclaw last year will come in on averages over 6.00 as they have achieved an average over 3.00 in the Ekstraliga. Therefore probably not worth it. The rest of the juniors are unproven and many are only 16/17 so massive risks. More of a problem of the British Speedway management than Ipswich, 3.00 average is easier to achieve in Poland as they include bonus points. Maybe if both U21 riders' average did not count to the overall average Ipswich would be able to bring Wroclaw riders in.
  4. This may be a daft question….. Why don’t clubs offer riders a multi year contract? Is there anything in the rule book which states that all rider contracts are for one season only? I assume that it’s due to the fact that there is a points limit and the constant messing around with said limit. If you give a rider a two or three year contract and their average increases significantly in the first season, then you have a problem particularly if it happens to more than one rider. The only solution is to do away with the points limit which of course would create different challenges and radically change the structure of the sport.
  5. Thanks for the feedback. Check now and let me know if you prefer it....
  6. Follow our latest league win we need major surgery to comply with the points limit which seems to be staying at 37 (though that in effect is a further reduction). 42.19-8.62 (Jason) & 5.51 (retired PK) plus 3 (min) leaves only 5.94 for our last rider. You have to bear in mind that we like to remain loyal to our family of riders where we can. It makes consecutive titles difficult but it’s the way we like it.
  7. Today
  8. Given that we have probably lost Dan, I would have thought that going for Ben Cook who is on a low average might be sensible. He may not be as consistent in Hts 13 and 15 but he would be a reliable heat leader in his other three rides.
  9. wonder how long football would last it 50% of their teams changed every year.
  10. Then no complaints about loyalty, teams loosing winning sides, guests riding for clubs that hamper their own clubs chances of play offs can be made going forward. They are all in it for themselves, bin of the league and just have individual competitions held at each club, lets see how long speedway lasts over here. This!
  11. but there is the problem with team sports, especially speedway no wonder the fan base of teams is dropping
  12. Back from Xmas shopping today. The pressie I bought Trackrat he won’t be seeing the 2027 season that’s for sure.
  13. A great piece of work... Particularly this season as it provides a great reference point as to who can still ride in the UK under the new rules...
  14. Why should he ffs? 😂 Riders aren’t objects that people own just like you or me aren’t owned by our employers we’re all free to work wherever we like. This ain’t 1940. The abolishment of “assets” was long overdue. Riders come and go all over the place and people need to understand that it’s all very short term, season to season. So in your view, because he rode for the Colts, he should be forced to stay at Belle Vue again next year? Every meeting could be a riders last and they’re in their right to go with whomever offers them the best deal. You, me and every Belle Vue fan would do exactly the same 🙄
  15. The good thing is, that anyone in the team has access to practice at home as often as they need, especially for new riders, last season our riders were offered the same, I believe that Mario declined the use of practice but the others did use it.
  16. A unique sport (in the UK), where everyone basically becomes "free agents" every year... Meaning of course they then can freely seek out better terms elsewhere, or, to keep them, you have to at least match those better terms, which then adds to your budgeted costs, which may be unaffordable... People talk about development of riders, but as they often have two teams on the go from an early age, (more if they are clearly going to be any good), then no one team can really say that they were responsible for any riders development... And, of course, some will mention loyalty, however, in UK Speedway you could ride for every other team in your league over a season, therefore loyalty to any particular club would be a difficult concept to be seen as integral in UK Speedway... Especially as you can lose your place in any team for doing "too well" if your new average allows your team to replace you with someone they see as being better at that figure .. If Dan leaves the Aces, (he already has as the season has ended), then good luck to him... The only loyalty I would suggest he has in Speedway is to the Polish teams that have paid the considerable amount for his rehab when he has suffered serious injury... Even when the injuries happened elsewhere... It would be good for the UK to have him riding over here given he can be so exciting to watch...
  17. Thanks for stepping in and clarifying costs in different formats.
  18. So basically it tell us absolutely nothing that everyone knew already
  19. In addition to Grudziadz Beau Bailey has already signed in Sweden (Dackarna) and Denmark (Region Varde)
  20. A brilliant resource but could you possibly change the font in the right-hand menu to something easier to read?
  21. they chased the money, we couldnt compete, like i always say, we are probably the lowest payers in league but let ipswich fans tell you otherwise anyway. good luck to them, end of the day you will always go to the highest bidder. it will just make the defeat of ipswich at NSS so much sweeter
  22. It's the same response as Poole got for taking Rushen and Cairns and all the others who they've played no part in helping develop as soon as they become good enough. He came from the colts into the Aces, its a shame for the Aces that he is probably leaving when he should be their RS next season
  23. Does the Star article say he's returning to Plymouth or just the UK?
  24. It wouldn't be the same if he didn't have a pop at Poole, like you said, consintrate on Workington 2027 riders or lack of it
