Not followed the U S speedway much but I’m curious of the Visa qualification required to race over here. Is there a National Qualifier to get seedings or is it like Oz where state championships get you a qualification? Just wondering. TIA

The ERW is a mad track to watch racing.😂 I don’t know if it’s the same live, but watching on BSN, it doesn’t look like the riders ever go straight; it’s like a big circle. The starts are mad too. It’s like the bikes pull the riders towards the first bend, with gates one or two inevitably hitting the front. Gate four has no chance. Is that just me? This isn’t a criticism; I enjoy meetings at Scunthorpe. Plenty of actions.

A major contributory factor to the current situation is that so many promoters and owners are either ex sponsors of riders, or ex riders... Hence, they come from within the Speedway Bubble... Therefore, they just see the nonsense that pervades as either "perfectly normal" or accept that "there is no other way" as that is all they have been used to... This then becomes custom and practice, and no one then sees the harm it is doing to the sport long term... New ideas, new pairs of eyes, and a new operating model, all coming into the sport, is long, long overdue..

Hope you enjoy the racing, Kevin and Jan are going up. Come on the Pirates. A close safe meeting is what we want.

I admire your glass-half-full perspective, but IMO, you’re rationalising bad performances. How anyone can defend Hausl, Harris or Flint is beyond me. The track is the same for Harris as it is for every other rider. If 16 year-old Ryan Ingram can pass Leon Flint (a disgrace from our number one) at Scunthorpe, then I expect Harris to be able to do the same.

Prem to have 5 rider teams. Championship to gave 6 or 7 rider sides.

Think track is prepared for racing and Picko rides the fence more than Bomber does.

The EWR is a racers track with plenty of lines and loads of passing, Poole is not! I await the dirge from Poole supporters😁😁😁

If we do get 8 teams, then how many fixtures will it be. Home and away twice? Home and away once with a "league cup", with two divisions of four each, or just once home and away. I'm asking as over the years, the number of matches has already reduced considerably.

Exactly the sort of mindset Coleman & Lemon are up against…..no idea about how the modern sporting world works & what today’s consumers want. As Coleman said they can all argue about the time line but the current path leads to extinction of the sport.

Hopefully! Even with some kind of safety net so that if it doesn’t work out, they lose too much money or the crowds suffer because of the loss of local derbies etc etc, then give them those assurances that they can drop again similar to Oxford. At least give it a ‘kin go! The set up there is tailor-made for top flight Speedway.

100%, and that will be the objective of Richard Coleman and the rest of the top tier.. Make it a "serious sport"... Hopefully there are enough who want to run it as such... For the rest then the current last several years of 100's of adhoc septets turning up will be fine... But you don't try and sell that division to the TV or potential major sponsors.. It will interesting to see how they make their intended clear demarcation between the leagues...

At least The FA own Wembley. So yes it is the home of football in England. Maybe the BSPL could buy Coventry in due course?

You go to a pub on Friday night. You walk to the bar where the barman is in conversation with three other customers. What is their history? What have they done together? Have any of them been to prison? You don't know them or anything about them but you stand next to them & drink your pint without question. The difference is Jason Garrity is someone who's name you know & you didn't like him before he went to prison. if you want to use him as a reason not to attend speedway events thats your choice but you don't need to share your hateful message with the rest of us. He done the crime & he's done the time. Now live & let live

With that attitude it certainly will be. There are however, people who still believe in the product (Richard Coleman the latest) who are trying hard to pull the sport up by its bootstraps and get it upwardly mobile. Your club and others like it, may well be happy with their slippers on, reduce costs annually and see the sport descend even further in to the abyss as an amateur sport in front of a couple of hundred people. Mr Campbell and the rest of the OAP dinosaurs are entitled to have that mindset. Others, like the mentioned Coleman and Mark Lemon, would prefer to at least try and get the top tier moving back upwards as a serious sport. You may think they’re wasting their time, but they obviously don’t so let them get on with it. Enjoy your thriving product in the lower league.
