  1. Past hour
  2. Is that the ‘we are the people’s champions’ or does that risk alienating half the fanbase 😉
  3. Not all clubs pay riders on a weekly basis so some riders will always be behind with their owed earnings. That could be to do with waiting till they stage their next home meeting to generate income. I know who you assist and did hear the issues he discussed with you know who, who stated it would be settled very soon, knowing the club involved I don’t think there’s a need to panic but I would say that as I’m not owed money.
  4. Today
  5. However, when Drabik misses the gate he doesn't manage to get back Smederna really slow from the gate tonight. We might salvage this win, but dont see Smederna wiinning in Gislaved next week.
  6. 1. More meetings at home, more income. 2. The proof is in the riders who are owed money, ( a rider I sponsor is one such individual ) and one of which has already gone public via internet posts . However, they ( thats more than one ) have been assured they will get paid , sometime. Riders should be allowed to withhold their service , without threat of suspension, if not paid within a set time period. Too many examples over the years of this sort of thing. Lets hope its just a hick-up this time.
  7. After a slow but even start to the meeting Smederna is now 8p ahead with 5 heats remaining. Smederna vs Zmarzlik is currently 1-1. Bartosz won his first heat but lost to Drabik in heat 9. Drabik was sligthly ahead into first bend and could choose his favourite line and that was it.
  8. I don’t agree with not using a rider from a play off side unless you have raced against them Say Ipswich beat Belle Vue and then Sheffield beat Leicester then if Emil gets injured we can use Fricke rather than a mercenary for 1 meeting And I don’t believe we should use Bewley or Kurtz because we knocked them out If it’s a Belle Vue v Sheffield final and Jack Holder is injured then Sheffield can use Emil

  10. You happy with Ipswich having 2 guests tomorrow night or should they be lining up with 5 riders?
  11. Yes very unlikely is how it may well be..But I think east Boldon greyhound/speedway stadium is only 5/6 mile from the large catchment area of Tyneside so it's surely worth some wealthy promoter at least running the rule as to reviving speedway - maybe some already have of course?
  12. Well done Glasgow. The people's champions 2025.
  13. Any comments about the actual meeting tomorrow.... like why is the Witches manager protecting his mate again and splitting the Emil and Dan partnership !!!
  14. Hopefully weather stays away. https://www.smhi.se/vader/radar-och-satellit/radar-med-blixt/q/sverige/plats/Gröndal/Eskilstuna/2710559
  15. A squad would never be workable either would it? So clubs can build squads, how many riders is each club laying claim to that nobody else can touch? And the riders in said squads that don’t make the cut some weeks, how do they earn a living?
  16. And yet... Year after year, the same system is allowed to continue.... Quite baffling...
  17. Back in the sands of time if the sport had been run correctly a proper squad system could have been established doing away with guests & rider replacement. While also given opportunities to more riders for track time. it didn’t happen & we now have a situation where to keep 2 leagues going 50% of the riders double up between the leagues. Totally farcical.

  19. one big league one average for every rider .
  20. Not much though. Sorry for misquoting you. 🙂
  21. I think bringing riders in who are unattached is a much better "look" for the sport... You cannot use averages all year and then not use them just because something may not look right to some... As long as Rider A has an equal or lower average than the one he replaces then all is fair game for me... At least it makes the sport look professional and in line with other sports, and also makes it look like winning the competition has kudos, is something worth winning, and will stimulate plenty of interest!! It wouldn't take much to work an algorithm average for each level of rider from BZ down, and there would also need to be caveats such as the missing rider mustn't ride elsewhere, and be injured/ill tll the seasons end (eg like Fricke when Lambert replaced him)... If Emil got injured and missed the play offs, then Lambert, Madsen, Dudek etc would be much better "like for like" replacements than anyone from the bottom three teams, and a much more credible move for a pro sport... Wroclaw brought in Charles Wright when Tai got injured and he then subsequently got injured, which meant Wroclaw got hammered in the final, but, for the greater good of the competition, they couldn't bring a "ringer" in, which meant the status of their league stayed top level, maintaining TV and "major" sponsor involvement... UK Speedway needs to aspire to that level of professional credibility, and, somehow, find a way of achieving it...
  22. Just heard that there will be no live match tonight, but instead the restaging of tonight's postponed fixture will be screened live next Monday - so a double bill next week!
  23. We look forward to completing our tour of East Anglia’s tracks by being part of the Fen Tigers’ long-awaited return to race action this Saturday, 6 September. The ‘Racing in the East’ exhibition will be on display, accompanied by a free booklet. A feature in the meeting’s programme - ‘Cold War, Hot Fen!’ - will shine a light on fifty international years of Mildenhall speedway. For more, see the ‘Racing in the East’ website. Hopefully see you there!
