GP line-up for 2026
ShanoXtra replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But Doyle beats all of them in Ekstraliga meetings so why make the competition worse? If they can’t even get it via qualification they aren’t good enough yet, how many people paying to fly to different countries to watch those? I know for a fact lots of Witches fans travel purely because of Doyle. But I respect your opinion and I’m not saying either of us are right or wrong. -
Poole opened in 1948, I am not sure if they have missed a season. Ipswich have staged speedway at the same track every year since 1969.

If i want to go to a meeting I go to the venue. I will never spend a penny on some cheap and nasty production that's probably as polished as the second rate vcrs thag were being knocked out in the 80s.

GP line-up for 2026

I’d have Parnitskyi , Cierniak or Kowalski before Doyle . All young up and coming and hungry. Wanting to show they can mix it at the top. As good as Doyle was , he’s had his day and brings no new interest. Also he likes a fall so is likely to miss gp’s too. Nothing wrong with freshening things up to re energise the competition. Just my opinion. -
Yes a chance to make up for an opportunity missed but history has a habit of repeating itself and with the current crop of club owners/promoters it is difficult to believe that could learn from the past or make bold decisions to take the sport forward given that the current business model does not work. It is doubtful but I guess all on the forum would be happy to be proved wrong and a new dynamic is introduced in 2026.

Is Shielfield the only British track to stage a meeting every season since 1993?

Hopefully two decent race tracks get delivered for both meetings... Two evenly matched teams should deliver a close semi final result overall... Max Fricke is key for Leicester and just seems to have gone off the boil a bit recently from his level a couple of months ago.. Hope he has two good meetings....

Kevin Juhl Pedersen announced to be in the Blue Ribband event, be interesting to see how he goes, maybe with an eye to bring him on board for next season should he perform well and stars align, potentially fixture clashes with him being Danish but the pirates do have a history of Danes in their side

Why do they have to bring something new Yes I’d have Emil and Laguta but it won’t happen So ruling them out who would you have ? I want the best 15 riders not just new riders for the sake of it Who? Who is better than Doyle , Fricke and Michelsen and Vaculik apart from Dudek Someone new will get in if they are good enough … I think you forget that Kurtz qualified he didn’t have a wild card Woryna is new this year because he deserved it and qualified Look at the riders who didn’t qualify through the challenge Cierniak, Wolbert , Gusts and Pollestad are the only riders who have never ridden a GP season….. you want one of those over a Doyle or Vaculik …. Seriously?? -

Redcar not in a good position coz it's a 50 minute walk from the Premier Inn! 😄 -

I think the fact that Workington got through to the end of the season is maybe more important than getting into the play-offs. I could be wrong of course. -

I mean in the other competitions, Redcar in a good position imo -
I think he means BSPA or it could be BSN. whatever/whichever Speedway Futures Ltd is a business in which BSPA has significant shareholding alongside ten other vested shareholders. BSN is 100% independent of BSPA and is the trading name of Exstream Media Ltd who have two shareholders neither of who have shareholding in Speedway Futures Ltd. As such JH was well wide of the mark with his comment/observation.

I only used Berwick in reply to "Third Man" who quoted them alongside Workinton questioning if they could afford top flight number ones etc.
-
Indeed still going strong after 57 seasons, despite when we started all the big clubs thinking we would last a season.

Masters looked like he was trying to me. If Lawson wasn’t there he would probably have gone through the card. His fall was caused by the pressure from Lawson where his front wheel went on the curb and shot him off across the end of the second bend. Masters and Lawson are clearly the two top riders of the Championship. -
why not Berwick?

Ha, not sure you were being intentionally funny. BSN has provided me the ability to watch meetings I would never have attended, different teams from across the UK and keep my interest in the sport up. Football is on TV all the time and stadiums are not empty. Fans will watch a game from a foreign league, because it's football and it creates talking points. As long as the hosting club is getting a share then it makes great sense to me. What should be on offer though is even more for those attending in person - the analysis, interviews, stats provision etc. otherwise it does sometimes feel like you're more involved if you're not there. You get pits views, reaction interviews, stats on performance etc. which the attendee does not, and they've paid more for it!
