  1. Past hour
  2. He's had several and unfortunately blown the lot, certainly a talented speedway rider on his day
  3. I expect you lot will be offering Craig Cook another chance šŸ˜šŸ˜‚
  4. Last race finished 18.39 😲 then a mad dash home and back to the Waverley to listen to stoney, certainly a full speedway day as it was 23.00 when stoney finished 😃. Hope the day for Jay was successful and made some money for the family
  5. Didn’t fancy the stick he would get at Workington end of this month 😶🤣
  6. Seeing one or two comparisons with Birmingham, but its much too soon for that and in any case hopefully its a wrong comparison. Season 1 always a case of get going and survive relatively unscathed, probably on an initial shoestring budget. Getting as far as July is an achievement so completing the season looks good. Hope that with a clearer run-up, season 2 brings better competitively and track prep is more straightforward. But it will need more sponsorship and marketing, and personally I still cant figure out the Foxes branding. Hope it gets changed whilst it still can be!
  7. Must admit after three and a half hours the old legs were ready to give up on me.....😁
  8. It’s tiresome but very cartel like that as soon as a club gets four wins over Northampton, seeing themselves nicely into the KO cup final and very well placed for the playoffs that they want OTHER clubs to help out Northampton for wins. Do as I say not as I do. Self interest at its best. It’s just the same with helping other teams be competitive as the only time this becomes a talking point is when they think they can have a pop at Belle Vue, the club that has done and does do more than any other. It’s pure defection for their lack or participation in making our league more competitive. Two riders over 8 is fine whilst your club have such a luxury but as soon as it’s gone then stop all teams. Self interest and yo yo ethics once again, ethics that is and has slowly killed this fine sport of ours. Predictably but sad. Anyway, I hope Matej returns soon, it’ll be Ace.
  9. Couple of weeks to convince Beau Bailey to come over for a few months. Guess depends on his schedule and any clashes? šŸ‘€šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤”
  10. Hope the pilots management will ease Mr Bowes pain by making him Poole's 1st signing for 2027 😜🤣
  11. This is silly. The "one of the eight" plan was a good leveller, and the league is looking pretty even right now -- Edinburgh and Scunthorpe are higher than they might have been if others had kept all the good riders to themselves. Since this is a Redcar page, I should also say that the Bears have the luxury of choosing which of two very good riders to be their #1 going forward. Their choice.
  12. Didn’t fancy the stick he would get at Workington end of this month 😶🤣
  13. Today
  14. First of all Plymouth gain way more out of it than we do. Secondly, Poole moved down to save money. Hardly think they are going to use it to make sure Redcar cant have Danny King!
  15. To be honest I thought he was not a good signing and only came to us based on one meeting he had at Poole. I feel sorry for him though, injuries like this can take a long time, just amazes me how many riders ride with rib injuries which do not sound awful but they are very painful.
  16. So you think they bribe other promoters to vote for what they want. How anti Poole do you need to be to think that!
  17. Well, Lemo is the sole shareholder but as Belle Vue CEO he beat, erm, himself to Doyley's signature šŸ¤”
  18. Leicester did the right thing, for the good of speedway of course, and handed the Foxes their only win of the season... the rest of you should hang your heads in shame 😁
  19. Bowes out for the season due to a 3-6 month recovery period from a 'bulging disc'!! Pirates have til their next meeting on 15th July (assuming England aren't in the World Cup semi final that day) to source a suitable replacement.
  20. Is there a case for changing the way in which rolling averages work? Currently at Ipswich Tom Brennan is still heading the rolling averages with 7.24 but his actual 2026 average is 6.49 his 7.24 means he has to line up at number 1 but due to his very bad start to the season, possibly due to his leg break in the winter, Musielak, King & Lawson are all above him on 2026 figures. Should team assembly be done to rolling averages and riding position based on actual in year averages? Tom being forced to ride at number 1, even now in July, is not doing him or Ipswich any favours at all.
  21. If one of the Northampton ā€œdirectorsā€ or whatever he calls himself, knew of Doyle’s availability, he should have been directing him there. I think now it’s pretty clear to everyone that help was initially there from certain people, to make a top league viable and nothing else. Not, to actually help that new club be competitive.
  22. We must be down to about ten of us rattling around in here now I wonder who the bookies have as the favorite to turn out the lights when the time comes.
  23. Hopefully when Zagar is back ideally for Batch they will win most home meetings he might be getting on but should still be a 6-7 point man in this league which should get them over the line assuming at least one of Lidsey or Klindt fancy it in the remaining home matches
  24. Actually it isn’t. From a fans point of view, absolutely. But I’ll tell you now there’s an awful lot of riders that hate going there. Doyle is one of them! Until now of course.. Doyle has admitted he missed racing here and wanted to come back. If Mark Lemon said to Doyle there’s one vacancy here, at Northampton, and he offered him the same deal he has for riding for Belle Vue, then he’d now be riding for Northampton it’s as simple as that. Can you imagine the impact the former world champion would have had at a new club trying to establish themselves?? It would have been HUGE for them and their gate receipts. But that didn’t happen did it? Why? You’ve even got supporters now saying they want Northampton to win their home meetings ā€œbut not this weekā€ (sorry Philā€) so there’s always going to be self interest across the board from the top to the bottom. We all want our teams to win of course we do, that’s only natural! But we also need a creditable league so that’s a league worth winning. Belle Vue are already sure of the play offs, would it really hurt to see Northampton win a home meeting to help with their next home attendance to keep them going rather than see your team extend their lead at the top of a meaningless table? Im not saying lose it deliberately, we can’t have that nonsense either, but hoping to inflict another home defeat on the bottom club? Come on we need Northampton to succeed as well as try and entice others to join. If those lower down think the likes of Belle Vue, my own team Ipswich, and Sheffield will just hoover up all the GP riders available then they’ll have no interest in joining if they won’t be competitive. Bring in a one rider over 8 rule for next year.
