  2. Bydgoszcz in the play off... do we know which fixture (28/09 or 05/10) will be at Bydgoszcz, as the fixtures will sandwich the SoN which I'm going to and Bydgoszcz is not exactly far from Torun I may as well get a ticket (along with Grudziądz v Wrocław on 27/08). I might even do the Gorzów (or Rybnik) return fixture.
  3. Main issue is broadcasting schedule Tuesday and Wednesday due to extensive Champions League matches taking place all channels are full. Not sure if Sweden are running this week as well
  4. What is rider availability like for rescheduling first leg either Tuesday or Wednesday
  5. What this cancellation may mean is that Ipswich have to run on a Monday instead of a Thursday not sure how much this will affect the crowd. So provisionally Thursday Sheffield vs Leicester Monday Leicester vs Sheffield Thursday Leicester/Sheffield vs Ipswich Monday Ipswich vs Leicester/Sheffield
  6. The big difference between speedway and stock car attendances is that Speedway relies on local support, whereas stock car racing has travelling fans from all over the country. I generally do about 30-40 stock car meetings a year, but my nearest track to home is about an hour away and some others are much further. A few years back I was in Cornwall one weekend and Scotland the next. Last night at Kings Lynn was the F1 World Final - the biggest stock car event of the season. As well as competitors from all over the UK, there were also drivers from New Zealand and Holland on both the big race grid and in the support events. Over 60 drivers had come over from Holland for the weekend, along with all their support teams and families. Travelling is far less of a risk as it is very rare that a meeting will be cancelled due to the weather, except if there is an extreme forecast and then it would be called of in advance, not 10 minutes before 'tapes up'. Just for the record, the £42 being quoted was the advance ticket price and they went off sale a week ago. The gate price was £48, and when I arrived at 12.30 (racing started at 5pm) there were big queues at the ticket office of people without advance tickets.
  7. Once again the interest in the GP limited to 10 pages. Gary Havelock said in the Star that Zmarslik hasn't had any competition for the last 3 years. If Kurtz hadn't have made the effort Bartoz would have won by a country mile. The only races worth watching were those involving those 2 just to see if Kurtz could pull it off. We need a competition not an exhibition.
  8. Almost correct as they are probably 2 of the top 3 attendance wise, but the biggest is the Unlimited Banger World Final which runs on a Saturday night in early October and despite a ticket price of £35 and increased car park fees of £4 instead of the usual £2, will more than likely sell out in advance.
  9. Suppose it says everything about the strength of the top level riders these days when it’s so hard to find 4 credible challengers to make each round more interesting. I agree woffindens best days are behind him but one thing he isn’t is mundane and boring, which is what top level speedway has become with no characters like Ward , Carter , Havelock etc . Hopefully he’ll come back stronger after his lay off this year . We already know the top 3 in 2026 and probably in the same order .
  10. For 2025 yes because of the Cardiff fiasco under the old rule of ‘ who beat who ‘ ( 2nd in line after wins, 2nds etc) last season.
  11. Madsen is already in, woffinden days are gone as a world force, nothing nox office about him these days except his swearing, in kasper woryna we might have some entertainment, I don’t think he will break the top 8 but he not afraid to mix it even with zmarzlik it should be at least laguta even if not Emil but both would be a welcome pick
  12. It was a key point of conversation during the Wroclaw GP, Tatum & Louis were saying it had clearly been over watered
  13. Kurtz did all he could to be number 1 this year. Nobody good enough to help him out by topping Zmarzlik. We need possible challengers. Doyle top class in his day at the top level but those days are now gone and he’ll know it deep down. He may challenge once or twice but over 10 rounds. No chance. Wild cards must be possible challengers or it will be the same predictable results on boring circuits. For what it’s worth I’d go for Laguta, Emil, Madsen and woffinden ( box office )
  14. 100% agree. This will be a snowball effect for Ipswich as well and all of a sudden Leicester has home advantage in semi final and final for coming 3rd. This about sums up British Speedway.
  15. Lets hope Sheffield is rained off Thursday and keep the advantage of second leg
  16. A bit like Madsen should have had a wild card this year, unfortunately what should happen and what actually does happen have been 2 very different things these last few years
  17. With Leicester now postponing tomorrow night semi final due to weather and the first leg now at Sheffield on Thursday, does this mean the final will be pushed and Ipswich has lost the chance to lift the trophy at Foxhall? If so, the league and speedway in this country is a joke altogether.
  18. A simple rule !!! If riders are tied after 20 heats it goes to wins, 2nds and 3rd’s - if that cannot split them then the fastest time set by each rider is the determining factor. It shouldn’t be but it is. All because they couldn’t work out who beat who in the 4 rider tie in Cardiff in 2024.
  19. One thing that stood out to me this year and has to stop........over watering of the track. And it appears to me no one is allowed to talk about it.... not the riders, not the commentators, not those that interview or are interviewed. Over watering spoilt more than a few races this year....some of them "key" races.
  20. If rumors from Poland are to be believed WBD wont be involved anymore next year. Apparently they are in the process of selling all the speedway rights. There should be an official announcement coming soon.
  21. B.Cook showed last year he can cope in the top league, Zengota has previous experience, Parnicki should be a good asset but can’t be their number one in the top league, Picko I would be concerned about in Ekstraliga. They need a couple of big hitters I’d say to be confident of survival.
