Just saw the incident on BSN’s social media and it’s one of those that could be debated forever. I think it’s a bit reckless from Rushen. I can see why the referee made the decision, but I can also see Poole fans’ point of view. Not on board with Etheridge mimicking “come here” with his finger to Rushen, then clipping him on the way past. Would he have done that if it was Kerr or Lambert? Absolutely not. Well done Berwick though. A great club with good people, a fascinating track I love and a lovely part of the country. Buzzing to see the Bandits in a final.

It use to happen way back but times have changed and to even think you could replicate in the uk the Polish phenomenon of crowds and excitement is today a pipe dream. You have no publicity at national level (mainstream broadcasters could not give a fig about speedway, it ranks alongside tiddlywinks) and those who are in charge of the sport fail to dial in to the younger generation. Add to this the fact that you no longer have a cost effective entry to the sport which puts many off and hence the younger generation are no engaged. Those in charge have failed to sell the spectacle that it can be and now grass root change is needed but you have dinosaurs running the shop and until they are ousted you will have the status quo.

Financially Plymouth v Berwick is not what the Plymouth promotion wanted. Only a handful of away fans at each meeting while Poole would have bought down a lot of fans and vice versa. But there is clear lethargy in the Pirates camp. Clear for fans to see. Worst effort I have seen in many seasons. In fact since Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder went on the piss the night before we rode at Ipswich in the 2019 playoff semi final second leg.

Neutral fan, but I can’t see from seeing a reply on BSN Facebook how rushen was at fault there? He’s in front of etheridge he’s moving out to block any attack which he has every right to do. Hard to see if there was any contact with the cloud of dust but for me, etheridge has over committed, realised he’s running out of track rapid, and bailed. His reaction after was utterly embarrassing . A man throwing a pathetic attempt of a punch in the direction of a kid. If that’s in Poland, red card out the meeting. He should get a ban for his reaction there.

Congrats to Monarchs on a fine win with the whole team contributing. I do really like watching speedway from Plymouth, seems to be a great atmosphere there. Not a lot of passing tonight, but it makes you appreciate the passes there are like Kye's brilliant outside pass on Danny King in heat 13. Special mention to Jordy, who after a poor ride in what should be his easiest ride in heat 2, then scored 7+2 from his remaining 4 rides.

Shows how entrenched the club vs country (or any other fixture) mind set has become within the sport in the UK that the commentator has been going on about Will Cairns in the SGP2 all night and Havvy was singing his praises... all totally normal and accepted, not even a thought as to why he's not riding for his club that provide him with a full league, cup and BSN Series calendar... should he wish to ride in them 🤷♂️
