Is It Finally Time For One League?
YeOldPitGate replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely it would make sense to have the rising star in the championship rather than slinging them in the top league and maybe 1 in 20 makes it and the rest lose heart/confidence and are lost to the sport. You don't see in boxing the next great young hope being put in with Usuk after 4-5 fights, look at the young UK riders lost to speedway over the years, its bonkers to me miss out the next logical step in the ladder and sling in a boy with a years experience against Doyle and Emil. - Today

Might be, but doubtful at the moment. As Hawkins says in the preview above, since the injury wobble we haven’t got close to getting back to our early season form yet when we were blitzing everyone out of sight at Foxhall. Hopefully that comes back by play off time!

But it won't be. I expect Ipswich to win but not by 60+. Not sure if Barker is riding ?

Should be 60+ to Ipswich. -
As someone who stands on the back straight I can confirm that the attendance last evening was similar in size to most meetings. That said, when I got home and watched the recording I did notice how the crowd seemed to be low, even where we were standing which was actually almost shoulder to shoulder. Shows how tv can sometimes be misleading. Also well done to those from Sheffield who turned out to support their team noticed that a few were on the back straight but the majority took their customary place on the first bend in good numbers. Clearly fans of Live speedway.

Whilst the signing of Jeppesen is good news, there still remains a doubt as to whether Cook and Kildemand are going to be available for the forthcoming meetings against Glasgow. -
Hats off to the track staff get the meeting on. I for one never thought it would be on when it was torrential rain around 4pm in Leicester yesterday afternoon. Max simply awesome at the minute. Go as far to say best in the league on present form. Anyone know when Gilkes maybe back. Real struggling at reserve and will need to be far more solid come play offs. Feel for Luke and his accident this season as was on top form but be a real risk him returning. Come the play offs are we able to utilise Lawson as rides Leicester well and would be solid away.

Were King's Lynn not under "special measures" last year as regards calling matches off? Didn't they have to seek permission from the governing body? In my opinion that should be the case for every club until an independent match official is on site 2 hours before a meeting at which point it is their decision to postpone or abandon a meeting... unless they're at Belle Vue where the nurse can call the meeting off, ooooh matron!
