  1. Past hour
  2. Or Foxhole šŸ™„ we haven't had that lately 😜 Anyway the dust has settled, I've finally managed to watch a recording, thanks to YouTube and rifling data from hubby's phone due to Internet failure from Thursday afternoon until this lunchtime so thanks city fibre and EE 🤔, it's hit me now that this Thursday in the pits, the magnificent 7 ( well 9) won't be there, that's it😲 What a fabulous team we've had the privilege to watch and support.
  3. Was his 'ban' in 2022 when he decided to ride in Poland and Sweden instead of the UK?
  4. Probably a completely different take when you’re watching sat up in the stands, compared to actually standing on it. It’s a very nice compliment to Ipswich either way. It was some occasion, an occasion we haven’t seen the like of anywhere here for a number of years. Fair play to them.
  5. They’d be neither ā€œtapping upā€ or ā€œpoachingā€ Dan Bewley. Dan Bewley is not currently Belle Vue’s rider. He’s a free agent and can negotiate with whomever he likes, and Chris Louis can do likewise. Mark Lemon can enter negotiations with Tom Brennan if he wishes, or Jason Doyle, or any 2025 Ipswich witches rider come to that. He’d be doing absolutely nothing wrong. No tapping up or poaching needed.
  6. You'd have thought he would have remembered the podium... he was stood on top of it last year at Leicester!
  7. Don’t let anyone on here tell you ever again that winning the title is ā€œworthlessā€ and ā€œmeans nothingā€. Of course it means something to a lot of people, and not just the fans. He probably won’t go anywhere, but he SHOULD IMO. Mike makes some great points. He’s not adding strings to his bow by pinning the throttle and riding the boards at the NSS every week. He seems to have only one way of riding and does the same in the GP’S. Again Mike is correct, he’s been passed multiple times on the inside because of his lack of track craft. He would improve as a rider tenfold by riding Ipswich every week or a track similar. One where he’d simply HAVE to adapt and learn to ride different lines if he wanted to pile in the points and earn good money. No time for patting yourself on the back and dwelling on your success. Thoughts should, and would, already be fixed on next year. Ipswich now have a couple of riders on averages they shouldn’t really touch. King started on an attractive figure because of his wrist issues last year which saw his performances dive. He’s had a good steady year which has seen that average rise and now has an average that Ipswich shouldn’t go near if they want to be successful. Surely now is the perfect time for him to bow out at Ipswich on a high note after lifting the title as captain? Unfortunately, you can say the same about Dan Thompson. Started on a ridiculously low figure due to a 25% reduction, has piled in the points at reserve, but has struggled a little when moving in to the main body. Now on a 6+ average, he wouldn’t be at reserve next year. Still young of course, but I’m not sure I’d have him in the main body of the side on that figure. Certainly doesn’t scream ā€œbargainā€.
  8. Today
  9. 1. TORUN (Rated the team this year after getting rid of the deadweight and they look even stronger in 2026 imo) 2. WROCLAW (Should click straight away as it's basically the same team from 2025, Think they're ahead of Lublin on paper this time around) 3. LUBLIN (Zmarzlik will keep them in the mix, Team needs drastic improvement from Lindgren & Vaculik to compete for the title imo) 4. ZIELONA GORA (Lots of potential to improve imo and they could be a big spoiler in 2026) 5. GRUDZIADZ (Looks good on paper but did Drabik & MJJ just have a freak season?, Will need both riders to carry that form over to 2026) 6. LESZNO (Baffling team bulding by signing most of the 24 relegated side, Heavily reliant on Parnitskyi but lucky 2 clubs have financial issues) 7. GORZOW (Better than Czestochowa in every department but could still go down depending on who finishes 2nd in Ekstraliga 2 in 2026) 8. CZESTOCHOWA (Should be thrown out of the league and replaced by Bydgoszcz imo, Doubt Czestochowa will win a meeting in 2026)
  10. Out of the top two leagues, Leszno had the biggest crowd on any one off night, bigger than even Torun’s Ekstraliga final attendance. Wroclaw had the best average attendance at 13,675 with an impeccable 100% attendance record all season.
  11. It was great to hear Louis & Hawkins on the radio yesterday morning. Talking already about building a team to keep on winning. 2025 was great season, winning on the track & enjoying some banter on here & on the terraces, winding the opposition up. It’s all part of the fun looking forward to 26 already
  12. The SWC is definitely the better competition but I cant see a good reason why have they got rid of the race off!? Terrible decision
  13. That’s is true, currently I would say it’s not a definite no go but I get the feeling it might be.
  14. No I am not going. Too far, cost £200 fuel, two days away and I can watch the stream for £12.99. Plus I am going to Crystal Palace Saturday for the top PL clash.
  15. Shame Vinnie Foords chain snapped or he would have probably won it , Rushden already agreed terms with Poole
  16. They are riding better now and Nagel has never faced us, he is a very good rider, with him they are a different team.
  17. A brilliant meeting and some good hard racing, Vinnie was hard done by to loose a chain while leading the last heat, could have won outright, will cairns missed the gate so did not get into the run off. While the run off itself was hard fought, well done all riders you were a credit to the sport. Cooper Rushden looks a fantastic prospect at 15 years old
  18. They are riding tomorrow though so that should get the cobwebs out ready for Wednesday and Flint guested for Redcar last night, Dan T also rode in the play offs for Ipswich. Cant see Glasgow reserves giving us much trouble but their top 5 are very strong, Nagel is their new tarasenko,we need 10-12 point lead in my opinion.
  19. Cairns 4th in british u19 final today, solid scores, was beaten by his potential reserve teammate next season cooper rushen when they met who finished 3rd,could be many battles between them two in future yrs,who knows but my money on rushen, don't know how but glasgow have to sign him otherwise they'll have the same problems again next yr.Big congratulations to Luke Harrison the champion .
  20. I wouldn’t be so sure. Riders careers are short and financial gain kicks in more as riders mature. We all know The Aces have no chance of outbidding the witches if push came to shove and tapping up riders before the season has even gone cold is a well known trait of theirs. The patchwork nature of their teams, culled from the declarations over the years could easily see them poaching another Brit currently sitting second in his teams averages. Dan’s due a testimonial next season with us (should have been this season but for his ban in ā€˜22) so you’d hope he’d remained an Ace for that reason but money talks. Maybe if The Aces ever get a chance of clinching the play off cup in front of a home crowd, then we could finally present a podium to be proud of though I have to thank Sheffield & Leicester for giving us a fine podium to celebrate our achievements recently.
  21. The podium was British Speedways, it would have been at any track for the final. Also he said one of the better meetings hes watched, not the best meeting for ages. Regardless it isn't a crime to say you enjoyed watching a meeting, especially when you ride for a team who's track is regarded by most as the best in the world. As I said why would Belle Vue care that Dan enjoyed the meeting, im a Belle Vue fan and I enjoyed the meeting🤣
  22. Leszno, Częstochowa and Stal to be fighting for relegation and Wroclaw vs Torun for the title. Lublin is very much a weakened team and if Vaculik has the season he had at Stal that’s a big problem, could find themselves fighting just to be in the play offs. I know due to the money situation Stal have decided to go young and try to build a team who will be stronger in a few years, their financial plan is a long term loan to pay back 1 million over 10 years, so this young team will be close to the team year in, year out for a few years. To reduce overheads and to be fair, you may find a few more clubs having internal audits and having issues, it was spoken a few years back that the riders financial demands is exceeding the financial profit of some teams. You only have to see that the night Doyle scored 20 points and made near on 200,000 zloty for Częstochowa, it was a bad night, it was away from home in Wroclaw so they didn’t even get any gate money that night!
  23. Glasgow's recent inaction and the weakness of their reserves would comcern me a bit as a Tigers fan, Poole have a fair bit of momentum at the moment and know how to get the job done at the business end of the season. Glasgow will need to keep things tight in the away leg to have any chance.
