I expect he is over the moon the best young British talents are going to Poole, he will have to put up with us challenging for honours. It must drive him up the wall.
-
Your pleased with the signing then
-
All this what Poole do and don’t do is regarding youngsters just getting tedious.
- Today

Regarding the young riders, a lot of teams have a NDL team or a junior team being ran in the Northern or midland junior league, thus helping local youngsters start and progress through the levels of the sport. But it appears Poole don't have this, then use ££s to encourage the youngsters to join them. Even when Poole put the youngsters meeting on last season Paul starke was riding in the event 🤔
-
yeah think geography would have been a factor in his decision.
-
Michael Lee was brilliant when he started at 16.
-
Teaching concrete racing.

The burden should be placed on the league, not the individual team. This is not Formula 1. Clubs cannot be expected to fund and maintain their own individual development teams. The best thing a club can do for the sport is to put on the best performance they can with the budget they have.
-
I agree. The signs being put out by the other 4 clubs (although BV seem to have been a bit quiet) indicate the 5-team league will go ahead. But there's clearly still not 100% resolution with "Team 5" that would enable BSPL to make the announcement they'd otherwise like to have made by now. Its hard to think that Team 5 could be anything other than Ipswich, but of course you cant be certain until its announced. Personally im in the "one league" camp and highly skeptical about the Premier league being viable, but the BSPL have made their decision for 2026 and so all we can now do, is to hope their plans and efforts succeed. It could be that anything more definite won't be announced until the AGM. But they must get their collective backsides in gear asap to develop a new plan for 2027 otherwise the whole circus will disappear over the cliff edge it's currently clinging onto

Train up local riders in the hope of making them professional speedway riders.. If all clubs took this attitude we wouldn't be producing any riders for the future.
-
Your talking about a completely different Era though. Not remotely near the same standard of riders about. After all they gave Vinnie his chance and Worky have benefited from that.🤔
-
Why would they? Their only goal is to assemble a winning team. And being part of a winning team is essential development. What more are you suggesting they do?

SGB Championship 2026 Confirmed Signings
Glen replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looking like the averages game will get the better of a few riders - no wonder the sport is in decline! -
And ultimately Poland!
-
A very strong reserve pairing who will continue steady progression. I think Hagon will end up being the strongest reserve. He could end up putting a couple of points on his average after being in the main team this year. He could end up causing himself issues for 27. I hope he doesn’t end up in a similar situation Hook has found himself in.
-
Big year for Jan, should be looking for an average closer to 8 than 7
-
That's a definite then 😂
-
Definitely the strongest part of their team. Could also be Poole depending on how they progress. Don't think Redcar look so great in the top 5, so good reserves needed.
-
Kvech it is.
-
No, they've signed him for the greater good of Poole speedway, they are not training and developing riders for the grater good of British speedway or the riders themselves.
