I’ve pulled you up on this before and it’s been a while since you’ve regurgitated this nonsense. Right from the start of the season you seemed to take offence at every man and his dog tipping Ipswich to win comfortably and you wrongly labelled Ipswich supporters on here “arrogant”. You haven’t specifically said Ipswich fans this time in your post, but it’s obvious who you meant. The Ipswich supporters actually were the ones who were much more reserved about their chances because of the way they’ve been burned the past couple of years, it was supporters of other clubs that basically wrote the season off as Ipswich were going to clean house. When you argued against this, I asked you to quote these “arrogant Ipswich fans” posts, and surprise surprise you disappeared because said posts didn’t exist. Others joined you in sticking the boot in and it all became a bit bizarre. The usual suspects from Belle Vue joined the party, as did one or two of your fellow Leicester supporters, and unsurprisingly, one vociferous King’s Lynn supporter. None of them could back up the cr@p they were coming out with by actually pulling up the quotes they were all whinging about. The only ones that didn’t seem to pile in were anyone from Sheffield so for that reason, if Ipswich don’t manage to pull it off, I hope they do. One poster, @szkocjasid , was the one who asked the question, “can they win every meeting” after Ipswich were blowing everyone away early doors. He didn’t say they would to be fair to him, but he asked the question. I personally hope Ipswich win this and I hope others who don’t have a horse in the race do too. I’ve an awful lot of respect for the way Chris Louis runs his club. A proper speedway man and as it turns out, a very good and professional business man too. If others in the sport ran their clubs as professionally as Louis does his, we wouldn’t be in half the bloody mess we currently find ourselves in.

Only area of the team we SHOULD have the upper hand is reserve and that simply MUST happen because we’ll be second best everywhere else. Ellis needs to step up here big time and needs to do better down there than he did on Thursday. Hope I’m wrong but I’m with you on the score, 16-20. That performance Thursday was an absolute stinker and all the confidence I had has drained away because of that one result. Dan concerns me in the engine room of the side also.

Really tough to call this one over two legs. Ipswich have been so flaky recently, don't know why but they just seem to not click. Belle Vue again can be flaky, inconsistent and away from have been poor at times but at least Belle Vue have been here and done this before. They have got good experience and at home they can be deadly when it's all clicking. Going for a 52-38 home win..

Not many teams ever get put together where you have quite probably one of the best two riders for that position in the league... The top two are both genuinely World Class... Brennan is a perfect third HL level rider, not quite good enough to be a one or five yet consistently, but ideal at Number Three... Both King and Ellis can be very inconsistent as a 3rd HL, but, again, perfect top level second strings when matched against all the other twos and fours... And, in Dan T, they almost had a cheat code at reserve given his development this season... Add in the RS was the best available, (shouldn't he have gone to Brum under the rules?), and you had a team well above the team limit by brilliantly using UK talent in the main... A huge advantage in team building versus the other three in the play offs, (especially when Woffy got injured), so it means all the pressure is on them to deliver now over the next few matches... If they all click then, statistically, they win comfortably., however, they won't possibly ever get a chance to put such a team together again, so, that in itself, will bring some added pressure to deliver the trophy.

I'm sure this season was the first of 3 years at a 40 point limit. As the limit should average at 42, that means a weaker league. But when they vote for a 3 year plan, it doesn't always last!

I don't know if I thought they'd win every meeting, but I did think Ipswich were massive favourites. I guess that was partly based on them having 2 x near 10 point riders. That hasn't happened this year.

Maybe they feel both Doyle & Brennan wouldn't beat an opponent in heat 13, with Doyle more likely to win heat 12? Personally I'd have the top 2 at 1&5.

So, the play off place orders are sorted and the semi final opponents seem to be a fair reflection on performances over the season. Not sure what the statistics are but, physiologically, it is always considered that it is preferable for the second leg of a meeting/match (in most sports) to be at home. Hence the incentive for a top two finish. Unfortunately in speedway, the weather can intervene and suddenly, the second leg becomes the first leg, even at this important stage of the season. It does make you wonder, even in this squeaky clean sport of ours, how much effort teams with the first leg at home are prepared to put in when they have to battle with wet tracks or the prediction of later rain. Or is the order of home and away legs really that important after all, maybe not?

That won't be easy to manage as they are nearly a point over the limit. Would probably mean having to go with weak reserves.

Kelvin is a likeable muppet, but there are several (some arrogant) posts on Ipswich related threads, going back several months, implying that the Witches were untouchable if they stayed injury free (not necessarily saying they would win every meeting). Well, they now have their full strength team for the business end of the season but there are quite a few recent twitchy posts on this forum. I obviously would love the Lions to take the honours, but anything can happen. If Ipswich conquer all, I will have no problem with that, but I think that with all the hype over the Witches team, they will be be under serious pressure to deliver. Like some posters have said, if they don't win the league with this year's septet, when will they win it?

Redcar very solid throughout, some good racing. Been a very good season for Redcar thus far considering they have been minus Erik Riss. Workington have some good riders with some potential. I think a number one next year will help allowing Batchelor, Vuolas to drop a number.

There have been issues with Redcar's stream this season with buffering and slow frame rates.

Details from Stal if anyone wishes to read: After losing two matches to Krono-Plast Wtokniarz, the shareholders of Gezet Stali Gorzów considered putting the club into bankruptcy. In the end, this did not happen, but other clubs have already become interested in the biggest stars of Steel. Jack Holder, Anders Thomsen, Oskar Paluch, and even Pawet Przedpetski, are fasty bites. Unofficially, we know that it will not be easy to them from Gorzów. The relevant provisions in the contracts strongly bind the hands of the players. And here comes the problem. Unofficially, we know that Holder, Przedpetski and Thomsen will not be easy to from Stal. And you certainly can't get it out for free. After the match with Wtokniarz, there was no feta and announcement of the extension of the contract with Thomsen, but we know that the Dane signed a pre-contract for 2026. And there is no possibility that he would break it on one side. The situation of Holder and Przedpetski is identical. Holder has a lucrative contract (1.1 million zlotys for signature and 11 thousand zlotys per point plus sponsorship allowances) and a powerful commitment in case of desire to break this contract. If now Holder decided that he wanted to part with Stala, he would have to pay half a million zlotys to the club. Holder could only leave for free if Stal fell out of the Extraliga. Such a clause is also in his contract. The same solution was used in the case of Przedpetski. He would also have to pay half a million to leave the extra-league Stal. For him, as for Holder, the only chance for a free-free termination of the contract would be an inheritance. Someone will say that there is no drama, because if Stal falls in a month, all three will be able to leave for free. It's not that simple. Thomsen has no clause at all allowing him to leave.
