Apologies, he was in the plans SINCE December. He sounded gutted, is rather have a bit of loyalty and chose him over any news riders, especially to then come out and say they basically don’t care about this season and gave Scotty a sent off season. Do the right thing and put Jenkins in, speedway is failing in a lot of ways for me.
-
I'm guessing he was in Louis' plans, but he put the club up for sale, and the new promotion decided they would take a punt on Hellstrom-Bangs.
-
They’ve literally just completed a takeover 48 hours ago ffs! Pretty sure graphic design wouldn’t have been on a list of priorities 🙄

Klindt had a couple of league meetings at reserve for KL last season, which helped to boost his away average. His best away scores in the 1-5 were at Brum and Oxford. King didn't really have any major away performances, but an absolute stinker (0) at Leicester and two poor meetings (2 and 2+1) at Oxford.

Looks like we have a spammer on the forum

Yes I think it is safe to say the individual has several accounts going. It is equally quite sad and amusing that they crave so much attention. Hey we're a nice bunch here on the forum. Perhaps we can have a whip around and buy this person a Labrador puppy and satisfy their attention seeking needs 🤣 -
I wonder if they may place Lawson at 2 to support Tom in some tough heat ones? Him and fricke did some serious damage for Leicester season before last riding 3 heats together and he’ll win a lot of heat 8’s home and away. 1. Brennan 2. Lawson 3. King 4. Nicholls 5. Musielak 6. PHB 7. Edwards Can’t Scotty being fazed riding at 4 instead of 2

Disappointed by Ipswich personally, having Jenkins in the plans for 2026 until Jan came and then changing him isn’t the club I thought we were.

Northern Junior League 2026
dukes replied to bigdave's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Not being pedantic but could the Dukes enter a team? MDL allows nick names of previously defunct tracks for obvious reasons so why cannot the NJL not allow it also? -
Agree and what the other team members will get is invaluable experience of a rider who has seen it done it and can make the difference to one or two riders in the team. A true professional who has served the sport well and never gives up. He may not be at his peak but in reality he can steady a ship if things start to go awry so a good signing and it will be good to see him one more time as Witch. As to the rest of the team, give them a chance, no point in decrying what was and what is, a wheel has not been turned and Ipswich know as well as most what unfortunate injuries can do to what was suppose to be an unbeatable team. No one ever wants to see a rider injured but in a split second fortunes can change. Fingers crossed for all participants but in reality racing as these guys do in various leagues across Europe, the risks are undeniable. Let’s just see how things pan out.

Being honest, I expect Scotty to struggle big time Away from Home. However that won't matter to us as we don't have a Team that's capable of winning the League this year. I'm confident Scotty will roll back the years around Foxhall though. All about getting those Home wins and then looking ahead to 2027 where Mayfield won't be stuck behind the 8 ball.
-
I'm not knocking him as a rider all i'm saying your not getting the Scott Nicholls who rode at the Cardiff gp at his peak.

Injury free season with Scotty rolling back the years around Foxhall seems like a fitting send off imo.
-
Understandable imo. King doesn't exactly go well at most tracks away from Foxhall where's Klindt can score points everywhere bar Sheffield imo.
-
Same here, May not be a World Class GP Rider @ No.1 but it's still a statement signing by Mayfield imo and it shows the pulling power they have. Most of us have be worried about the No.6 position and they've managed to pull out a top young rider with a bright future ahead of him. Every fan base in the League would've been happy to see him in their 1-7 imo.
-
For a team who are competing in the top league in the UK, this image is very poor. I'd have thought now Mayfield are in charge they'd have a decent graphic designer at hand but clearly not 😂

Business as usual then? We can't afford the top riders while Poland are paying what they are, not without a TV deal and a very good tv deal at that. And how you can say that not having a NDL standard riders in a single league is not the way to develop the sport I can't fathom 🤷♂️ There are still riders looking to ride over here, Ippo's signing of PHB this year and Lynn bringing in Kvech a few years back shows this and there are other new faces in the CL this year.

No Brady due to our famous Play Off injury jinx. The Worralls took four of his play off rides with Jye Etheridge taking one. Ouch!

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2026
piston197 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The BBC are losing the Commonwealth games, possibly Wimbledon and definitely The Boat Race, after being outbid, might be the perfect moment to offer them Speedway, after all don't think TNT, Discovery or Eurosport will outbid them on that ! Might even be worth giving them the rights for nothing ,just to promote the sport ? IMO how well he scores and if he can stay injury free will detemine whether this is his last season !
-
Running the sport in a way that removes pretty much all authenticity of both leagues is an even worse answer to develop the sport...

Premiership Predictions 2026
Hamish McRaker replied to TheTopDrawer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes and you never know, there could be a tv deal by then covering the last league matches plus playoffs -
Fair to say that the math of combining current teams doesn't lead to many more team than the current five of the top flight - well, eight to be precise. Then the number of quality available riders run out. Remember the two current leagues exist at the moment because a good number of riders ride for two clubs in the two different leagues which would disappear if there was to be only one league.
-
I was focusing on one league made up of quality riders including those who would ride in GP's and/or Poland. so riders of a NDL standard and current lower second strings championship would be uncompetitive. Thus, as you well know, Mondays and Thursday would be the only days available for teams to field "top riders". I totally agree that one league could be made up excluding riders who ride in Gp's and or Poland as well as are of Scandinavian nationality and instead have teams including NDL & lower second string championship riders. But frankly, such low quality, and teams of 4, 5 or six riders is not the answer as a way to develop the sport.
