  1. Past hour
  2. I believe the rain started some time between 6 and 6.30, so the turnstiles were already open. Are you suggesting that once it started to rain heavily they should have close the gates and leave people standing in the rain ? Everyone will have a readmission ticket which can either be used for the rearranged fixture or refunded so it's not as if the club have gained by opening the turnstiles. The only winners last night are the stadium owners who would have gained rental income and sold food and drinks to the punters.
  3. Yes true not every club do it, quite a few premiership clubs dont either. Bit of a shame but as you say that is their prerogative.

We can all get a handle on where speedway sits in the public consciousness. I’ve asked this twice but I think fans lethargy dwarfs that of any promoter. Invite 20 people you know to attend a meeting with you and let us know their reaction whether they attend or not. These are “hot” invites as they know and like you so it’s infinitely easier than a “cold call” invite. Having your 20 responses will give you a sense of what speedway in the UK is up against. Just to add, you don’t need to do this. You can all do nothing or even better just keep telling other folk where they are going wrong.
  5. Like I said if the promotion are happy why should they.Streams are OK if Clubs want to do it,their prerogative.
  6. Challenge final in Morizes Saturday 6th September line-up- start time 8pm UK time. 1 Kruse 2 Meijerink 3 Cooper 4 Tresarrieu 5 Stichauer 6 Ahlbom 7 F Wachs 8 Bouin 9 Ritchings 10 Aarnio 11 Niedermeier 12 Moi 13 Hummel 14 Meijer 15 Bukhave 16 Macek 17 Walker 18 T Wachs 19 Appleton 20 Dubernaud 21 RES Chauffou 22 RES Valladon
  7. Once again this myth rears its ugly head. What evidence do you have to make such an outrageous statement? As I've written before, you have to go back eleven years to find an incident in which a rider suffered career-changing injuries at Owlerton. How many other PL or CL tracks can make such a claim?
  8. Today
  9. The sad irony is that the heavens opened AGAIN at precisely 9.20pm. Given an 8.30 start, this would have most certainly caused an abandonment at around heat 9 or 10, whereupon some obscure rule would have been invoked as to whether the result does/doesn't stand, after which half the crowd would have gone home in raptures and the other half would have become a riotous mob. In the final analysis, it strikes me that the riders' indecision allowed the promotion to dodge a bullet!
  10. of course he wasnt there, he just wanted a dig at Belle Vue for some reason.
  11. If you put the below promotional code in I will consider discount. itsamoneymakingexerciseandyourontoplums bit long but if I get enough uptake I will consider upgrading to Black & white pictures.
  12. The recent Oxford meeting for one.... some very strange goings on...
  13. My parents used to take me to Rayleigh and we would enjoy both the Speedway and Stock Cars before rushing back to the station to travel back to Wimbledon for the evening meeting at Plough Lane. The last few years saw the Stock Cars replaced by PRI Bangers and Mini Rods or Anglia Rods, personally Stock Cars and Mini Rods would have been our favourite but the Stock Cars had been replaced by the PRI Bangers by the time the Mini Rods started. Being a Stock Car, Speedway and Railway enthusiast I thought it was a great day and always looked forward to our Rayleigh visits.
  14. Surely if there was a torrential downpour around 6 the turnstiles shouldn't have been opened until the match was going ahead?
  15. Having a stream does not necessarily mean less attendance. Poole crowds are pretty much unaffected by having a stream I would say.
  16. I will do it from my phone for £79.99 Will pm my bank details.
  17. Glasgow want fans at their meetings. it seems that. Attendances are Ok why do they have stream if they are happy with the situation.Green eyed monsters appearing everywhere these days.🤔😂
  18. If it was a GP or in Poland don’t think certain riders would want to go home.
  19. You cant beat lawson for consistency , steady, safe, good team man, good equipment , good gater .
  20. decent enough meeting, score doesnt really reflect how close it was, this time it was us with the unfortunate bike problems, that happens, as always things even themselves out in the end after lynns problems in the first fixture. very impressed with tate last night, and once again away from home its the heats 13/15 that cost us really, im shocked everyone still blames the bottom end of the team for the troubles
  21. Speedway possibly needs go the same way as cricket. Look how the hundred has attracted huge crowds due to a different approach with the format with world class players performing every match. The cricket purists said it wouldn't work and have been proved wrong. Perhaps a similar thing should be tried and with a little thought and proper promotion you never know.
  22. Exactly, which is why he should have been the first name on the Leicester team sheet this season but it sounds like we were maybe dithering around and he decided to accept a concrete offer from Lynn. We ended up with Craig Cook!!!!
  23. To be fair to Lawson whilst his best days are (probably) behind him he's brilliantly consistent for whoever he rides for - he was a big fave down at Arena when he rode for us!
  24. So are Glasgow going to join every other club and start streaming matches? It’s ludicrous that they don’t and of course have been missing a money stream while denying fans from all over the country from seeing their wonderful, bestest ever, dogs danglies, bigly magnificent race track. They can’t honestly expect ageing speedway fans to travel hundreds of miles in each direction to watch 90 mins of live action, but they can charge £12.99 that they wouldn’t have made with a stream. And it doesn’t have to cost much. Redcar’s streaming is basic but good enough. Two cameras. One static IRRC. One guy on a mic. Job done. Everyone happy. Sort it out please. Yes, stuck record.
