  1. Past hour
  2. It seems he didn't know arc were taking over from sis, so it wasn't his decision to leave.
  3. At the start of this phase when Chris announced 'the sale' I thought that was actually the end game after a bit of brinkmanship Now I'm not thinking that at all - although in many ways it would seem like the best option (certainly for the club, the fans and probably the sport) I no longer think Chris sees it as the best option for him, even at the risk of not running at all I believe Ipswich will run one way or another - only time will tell who by
  4. Yup , know that ...... BUT assuming that the track and the staff will be available for one weekend even in PL doesn't run in 2026 ?
  5. Boothby obviously has (or once had) deep pockets and has put a lot of money into Oxford Stadium Ltd. One wonders how much longer he can keep subsidising operations at Cowley.
  6. They won away at Swindon in the first part of a double header i remember Bobby Schwartz shaking the hand of Einar Kyllingstad to congratulate him on his 15pt maximum. It was a poor afternoon for Swindon as they got tonked by Oxford in the following match.
  7. So despite all that is going on this winter and the expression of the need to reset and build for the future the proposed best solution to Scunthorpes team building is to bring in and over inflated foreign rider and sacrifice a new 2 point Brit as soon as it is possible to do so I think that shows that people are simply not interested in what might be best and there really is no hope left.....
  8. Bewley signed , thats good to see one English top rider in the UK speedway leagues. Got to be doubt over the affordability of Kurtz (even if he can be assed to race in the UK ) with the lack of money aound in PL 2026. unless BV have a big money sponsor
  9. I'm beginning to think someone running the mythical sixth team out of Oxford is looking the most likely outcome, maybe under Swindon name possibly, The Oxford stadium owner gets some money in which helps his situation, the other five promoters have to pay in 10-15k each to cover part of the expected losses. All they need now is to find a lamb to sacrafice that has 50-100k in its sheep coats ready for burning and its all systems go, the only other loser I can see would be Courtney given it seems speedway fatigue set in last season with fans not wanting to pony up to watch three teams.
  10. Would love it, but would Team GB be overmatched? Aussies, get to pick from, Kurtz, Fricke, Doyle, J/C Holder, Douglas, Masters, Pickering, B/Z Cook, Tungate, and others. Team GB, would do well to match them, even with non GB league riders Lambert and Woffy, could be embarrassing without them.
  11. Today
  12. If they let Hook go then I’m thinking the Cook rumour could well be true and going for a stronger top 5,imo going for a stronger top 5 isn’t a bad thing,if Cook is signed then Jeppesen,Zischke,Batchelor,??,,Cook as a Top 4 that’s pretty good if Zischke gets going along with Cook could well be a title challenging top4.
  13. Just don’t understand with Scunthorpe going with Pickering that they didn’t negate that and go with 2 2.00 reserves so atleast you can still build a decent top 5 and when Pickering gets an average if 9.00ish then maybe you can change things with one of the reserves. imo Scunthorpe look like getting the wooden spoon already awful looking line up Palm Toft is a 2nd string these days in this league nowhere near a no5 plus all the other riders no one is a heatleader, there all 2nd strings and reserves.
  14. Bit of a low-key announcement, considering it's for the new number one rider!
  15. For me Louis will keep it on and run it. Australia would have been a good break to gather his thoughts. He will do the right thing and give the Ipswich fans another successful season
  16. https://www.racingpost.com/greyhounds/arc-acquire-lease-at-suffolk-downs-al3Lk1j7eOjh/ Well he's lost Mildenhall, alot of staff have left Oxford due to unpaid work apparently. I'm hearing he's selling his race horses to get some money in. He's in a right mess financially by all accounts. But then he was last year and the clubs finished the season so let's hope for the same next season
  17. What's the logic for giving Garrity an average reduction? 7.23 to 4.80 is a bog drop. If it's due to time out of the sport, how can you reward someone for time spent in prison? If I was a Scunny fan, I'd want my club to steer clear of him, go with Declan Kennedy for example.
  18. It will always be compost corner to me
  19. It’s not looking good for news on the sale between Christmas & New Year.
  20. I think when pickering gets a new average scunthorpe will bring a new rider in so there riders better look out.
  21. Forgetting the rights and wrongs of signing garrity he would be a bargain on that average if it's correct
  22. What's that then? All i'd read is that he's continuing with getting Mildenhall greyhounds open and handing over Towcester, whilst continuing with Oxford. Is there further news?
  23. Crazy prices for Speedway the last meeting I went to was a fair few years ago but was a world team cup qualifying round at Lynn, Hamill came back to help the USA out so I mainly went to see him one last time, it was £15 a head and there must have been north of five thousand there with a great atmosphere. I can't remember the year but £15 to £200 over possibly a decade is bonkers.
  24. Plus don't forget Mike those polish tracks are like carpets compared to the pot holed ridden tracks in the UK.
  25. And fans too.... It needs lots of "new faces" in the stadiums.... Even if only to replace the "old faces" who no longer go....
  26. Your normally on the money Phil but I'm hoping your wrong on this one.
