Glasgow v Edinburgh Scottish Cup 1st Leg 11th July

Fans, (plural)?………Bottles and other projectiles?……..I’m pretty sure it was a plastic tumbler thrown by one fan who’d had too much to drink and he was subsequently barred for a long spell. No excuse, but the action was out of character for the said fan by the way. -
And lose out on the BSN money? Not a very bright thing to do.

Glasgow v Edinburgh Scottish Cup 1st Leg 11th July

Cami said it all came down to the choice of guests and whilst i agree with him saying that Drew had an awful night you have to quantify it with Justin Sedgmen also having a nightmare afternoon and scoring the exact same points as Kemp. If Howarth had been at number 1 and if Sedgy had scored his usual points around Ashfield the score wouldn't have been very much different from what it was. Kye and Dan were head and shoulders above all the home riders and if the Tigers are going to keep Chris at number 3 so he can't compete in heat 13 against the best that the opposition has to muster then Glasgow are going to keep having nights like this when having your best riders in the biggest heats will often swing a meeting. Why is Chris at 3 competing against the opposition's second string at the business end of the meeting anyway? Is this another example of tactical genius from Cami once again? -

He did get a paid maximum guesting for Glasgow last season (think it was at Plymouth). Maybe that's why Glasgow had him as a guest? -

The worst thing i saw at Ashfield was home fans in the main stand throwing bottles and other projectiles at the two Leicester riders who were doing a well deserved victory lap after the end of heat 14 after they clinched the title in 2019. There's an element (albeit a small one) within the Glasgow support who are not very nice and i've noticed this creeping in over the past few years. 'Loutish' some would call it. Ashfield is not always the warmest and happiest place to be due to a minority of the fans although the staff are always lovely and hard working the whole year through and they deserve a mention because their work often goes unheralded. -

Cause he’d bang in 12/13 points a meeting at Berwick last season. -

Too much clay at Foxhall also. Again, stocks. The racing suffers as a result unfortunately. Because of the Stocks there’s also very little banking either. Louis was going to try and rectify that by lowering the inside to give it a banking “effect”, but the cost proved prohibitive when they realised all the drains would need digging up. Maybe it’s something that Coleman can now look in to. -

Granted hence why I said most successful british rider, Crump, Pederson, T Rick, Hans Nielson all a cut above Woffy.

Never a great fan, but I was always impressed by his ability (in GPs, against the very best) to pick a line coming out of bend 2 and weave his way past his opponents on the back straight (like Lambert last night)

Another Dave Lanning classic while commentating on Michael Lee... "he looks like a flying paper clip" 😂 ... and the 1985 Bradford World Final... "here comes Gundersen", today's screamers should take note that sometimes less is more 👍

Doesn't matter now but... Musielak had one bad ride but he also didn't lose the H2H battle on the night against Kurtz or Harris. 1-1 with Kurtz and 2-1 up on Harris, Rider of the Night and statistically our best Rider all season both Home and Away who let's not forget beat both Kurtz and Harris in Heat 11 when Belle Vue played a tactical sub against Tobi and Edwards. Everything statistically pointed towards Tobi being the best bet to pick one of them off in Heat 15.

100%... Even more so when you consider Ipswich have won just one top tier title in almost thirty years... Several of their fans on here have often made, almost smug, comments on how poor the crowd levels at other tracks are, and boasted that Ipswich have consistently had good crowds, regardless of success or not, all down to their loyal fanbase.. That one title seems to have increased expectations far in excess of their traditional position in the sport, which, has been one of doing "OK" most seasons, with some "yo-yo ing" between the top two tiers as and when the team struggled or the crowds dropped... Given the cards dealt to Coleman I would suggest it worth putting some perspective to this season, and just be glad "someone" decided to buy the place, as it didn't look like too many were coming forwards to do so.. I hope his endeavors to more Speedway forward reach fruition, as that will also positively impact the Witches, and their fanbase continues to support him in his plans for the club...

Meeting won and lost at Number 1. Thompson over Kemp. Tried to be positive when the Comets signed Kemp, but in reality it's probably one of the biggest downgrades I've seen at Workington. Struggle to see how he was consistent enough to average 8 last season. Should of just brought Antti Vuolas back, who would of gave 110% effort
