  1. Past hour
  2. I'd be interested to know what you do find farcical, top 11 to qualify? top 12? top 15, so only 1 knocked out of the qualifying heats? We're trying to order the best riders, not the luckiest.
  3. I don't understand why you think it is farcical. For those finishing in the top 10, the heats are simply a qualifying process for the LCQs and the Final. These races then define the finishing positions and the points awarded to each rider. It may not be correct in your eyes, or anyone else who thinks the pre-2020 system should still be used, but it isn't farcical. It's no different to the playoff process that decides league champions, where the season long matches are 'qualifiers' and the winners could be any of the top 4. BriSCA F1 stock cars used to award the National Points Championship (and the right to wear the coveted silver roof for a year) to the driver scoring the most points over the whole season. But now, the title is awarded to the winner of a 12 round shootout in the last couple of months of the season, contested by the top 16 drivers at the cut off point. NASCAR in America also use an end of season shootout which means any of the top 16 at the cut off can be declared champion. These changes have been made to increase entertainment levels and public interest. They may seem incorrect to some, but farcical is just an opinion.
  4. There's actually 11 individual shareholders, but with 34 shareholdings, as the shares are issued in five different voting classes.
  5. Poole vs Redcar on Tuesday, so no Rowe. Oxford vs Poole on Weds, so no Masters or Rowe- but that is a BSN SF rather than playoffs so not sure who would get priority.
  6. this is getting to close to the world cup week, another week we cant race, so looks like the finals will be mid to late october
  7. Also what’s logical about scoring 11 pts in the Heats and finishing with 7 pts because you were good enough to get in the LCQ.!!! Farcical. Interesting too see what they will come up with next year to stop Bartosz winning.( bonus points if you make the gate🤔)
  8. Today
  9. The simple answer is it was designed to stop BZ winning again maintain interest with a last race decider being the ultimate dream ,problem is BZ didn't get the memo ! It was all on the last race though so not a complete disaster except for Kurtz fans .

  11. Thats too sensible for the authorities to comprehend. Just like the stupid scoring system. Which has proved on a few occasions farcical and as you have said the above rule is the most logical, but no they decide thats too easy. They have to go on fastest time!! Just like a rider can score 6 pts and still have the chance making the semi. Not to worry if some poor sod has scored 11 or 12 pts. " Oh no, what will do is give the rider who's been crap all night the same chance as a rider who's had a really good meeting to get to the final! Maybe to even it up even a little bit more. After the riders have had their five rides. Regardless of what they have scored. Have another 4 races Just put them all in a hat. The winner from each heat goes to the final. "Now you all cry thats not fair!!," but is it fair a rider scoring 6 pts should have an equal chance of a rider who has scored 12 pts in reaching the final?
  12. Bydgoszcz in the play off... do we know which fixture (28/09 or 05/10) will be at Bydgoszcz, as the fixtures will sandwich the SoN which I'm going to and Bydgoszcz is not exactly far from Torun I may as well get a ticket (along with Grudziądz v Wrocław on 27/08). I might even do the Gorzów (or Rybnik) return fixture.
  13. Main issue is broadcasting schedule Tuesday and Wednesday due to extensive Champions League matches taking place all channels are full. Not sure if Sweden are running this week as well
  14. What is rider availability like for rescheduling first leg either Tuesday or Wednesday
  15. What this cancellation may mean is that Ipswich have to run on a Monday instead of a Thursday not sure how much this will affect the crowd. So provisionally Thursday Sheffield vs Leicester Monday Leicester vs Sheffield Thursday Leicester/Sheffield vs Ipswich Monday Ipswich vs Leicester/Sheffield
  16. The big difference between speedway and stock car attendances is that Speedway relies on local support, whereas stock car racing has travelling fans from all over the country. I generally do about 30-40 stock car meetings a year, but my nearest track to home is about an hour away and some others are much further. A few years back I was in Cornwall one weekend and Scotland the next. Last night at Kings Lynn was the F1 World Final - the biggest stock car event of the season. As well as competitors from all over the UK, there were also drivers from New Zealand and Holland on both the big race grid and in the support events. Over 60 drivers had come over from Holland for the weekend, along with all their support teams and families. Travelling is far less of a risk as it is very rare that a meeting will be cancelled due to the weather, except if there is an extreme forecast and then it would be called of in advance, not 10 minutes before 'tapes up'. Just for the record, the £42 being quoted was the advance ticket price and they went off sale a week ago. The gate price was £48, and when I arrived at 12.30 (racing started at 5pm) there were big queues at the ticket office of people without advance tickets.
  17. Once again the interest in the GP limited to 10 pages. Gary Havelock said in the Star that Zmarslik hasn't had any competition for the last 3 years. If Kurtz hadn't have made the effort Bartoz would have won by a country mile. The only races worth watching were those involving those 2 just to see if Kurtz could pull it off. We need a competition not an exhibition.
  18. Almost correct as they are probably 2 of the top 3 attendance wise, but the biggest is the Unlimited Banger World Final which runs on a Saturday night in early October and despite a ticket price of £35 and increased car park fees of £4 instead of the usual £2, will more than likely sell out in advance.
  19. Suppose it says everything about the strength of the top level riders these days when it’s so hard to find 4 credible challengers to make each round more interesting. I agree woffindens best days are behind him but one thing he isn’t is mundane and boring, which is what top level speedway has become with no characters like Ward , Carter , Havelock etc . Hopefully he’ll come back stronger after his lay off this year . We already know the top 3 in 2026 and probably in the same order .
  20. For 2025 yes because of the Cardiff fiasco under the old rule of ‘ who beat who ‘ ( 2nd in line after wins, 2nds etc) last season.
  21. Madsen is already in, woffinden days are gone as a world force, nothing nox office about him these days except his swearing, in kasper woryna we might have some entertainment, I don’t think he will break the top 8 but he not afraid to mix it even with zmarzlik it should be at least laguta even if not Emil but both would be a welcome pick
  22. It was a key point of conversation during the Wroclaw GP, Tatum & Louis were saying it had clearly been over watered
