  1. Past hour
  2. Watched the last SON from the top of the Monster rig situated there... (Thanks Monster Joe, free food and bar for two days!!!).. And seeing the riders fly down the straight, and cut across each other, at full speed, at the last moment on that third turn, is incredible to see...
  3. He’d need to bin off one of Sweden or Denmark first before he can race in UK. But if the money is right I’m sure he’d drop one, the Poles don’t call him ‘Dollar Doyle’ for nothing 💰
  4. We using a guest on sat? Could do with a fast starter!
  5. Imo cairns seems to think he is a lot better than he is, if he gates will win, but if he misses the gate he struggles to pass, or if he does it's reckless, daddy's money won't help him passing other riders though 😜
  6. Wonder what the witches fans would make of that
  7. I remember hearing Kelvin say at the GP over the weekend that Doyley wouldn't mind coming back to the premiership - he's obvioiusly not going to be a direct replacement for Bewley but he does like the NSS, and he's an aussie so would fit in quite well with the team / management. No idea on whether his average fits, I would assume so. Might even free up some room to replace another rider who's not performing as well as expected.
  8. I think the issue for me is having it on consecutive nights, although I appreciate why financially. I just find it odd to say that Max Fricke won the British GP, but so did Brady Kurtz, all in the same weekend. Would it be enviable to have the usual gap? Perhaps it would.
  9. Today
  10. You obviously were not there to see Cairns torpedo Piper into the fence, I watched Cairns throughout the meeting walking round the pits like some sort of prima donna , showing no humility at all like the GP riders I had witnessed only 24 hrs earlier at Belle Vue.
  11. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m only telling you what the spirits are telling me..
  12. Yes, definitely - on top of a shared of the conversion cost you obviously have all the track installation and infrastructure costs as well, so wouldn't be cheap. Against that then you obviously also have a much larger capacity to offset the costs, and I do think a London SGP would sell well. This is what is on this summer, and, as athletics is included, the oval configuration will be in place https://www.london-stadium.com/residents-information/index.html
  13. Already left. He had to. The full truth comes out tonight...going to be explosive. He'll soon be staring at four walls and making sure he doesn't drop the soap! In the words of Clinton Baptiste: "I'm getting the word....nonce."
  14. Sadly every time the camera panned to the crowd it did look a little that way, the average age of those they panned to must have been age 50! The fanbase/lack of excitement in the crows not a great advert really to any young fans watching at home. The racing was superb across both nights, I am still not sure two GPs across the same weekend is good for the sport. In most cases riders that not dialled in on the first night, are probably not going to be dialled in on the second night. The TV production also seemed to focus on riders battling for 3rd/4th and a couple of times missed a race at the front.
  15. Just a guess but maybe the Berwick meeting has a different time constraint as it was moved due to the original BSN meeting vs Plymouth having to be postponed due to the stadium issues.
  16. I watched it delayed by about 45 minutes and didn’t have any issues. Fast forwarded between heats and nearly caught up to ‘live’ by the end. Perhaps that’s the best way to watch it if you don’t like long drawn out meetings.
  17. Ex riders, and sponsors of riders who take over clubs, are, in the main, the ones who provide the sport.... They are too close to the sport and know nothing other than what has gone before, therefore, do pretty much, exactly the same.. The raw material of a fast, high octane, colourful, exciting sport, all done in a minute so perfect for modern day attention spans, is clearly something that has potential to be exploited. However, white, middle aged males, with almost zero marketing, media and entrepreneurial skills, certainly need some people working with them who do possess those skills...
  18. Cardiff was no Wembley was it?... The racing isn't as good as it used to be is it?... The riders of today are not as good as their counterparts of yesteryear are they?... Etc. Etc. Etc ..
  19. Some promoters haven’t got a clue how to run meetings, they think people have unlimited attention spans and can watch meetings that takes hours to run. Its like they said on 360 speedway this week, its needs to be bang bang bang, slick operation and always something to keep the public interested between races. They are doing the same things and playing the same music they were 30 years ago.
  20. Pirates social media sites had it within minutes of the final!!
  21. Maybe time for the Island club to "come home" to ACU speedway, and rejoin the NDL next year?
  22. Weren’t West Ham 'gifted' this stadium on the understating it would/could be used for other events?
  23. The weather darn sarf in London is decent usually. The catchment area is definitely there. The authorities could publicise it to death, showing old Wembley finals as well as referring to the ‘ local team of yesteryear’ the West Ham Hammers , to appeal to the locals. Grandads might take their grandkids . Get that east end boy Barry Hearn involved. It’s all a dream but the sport needs a big positive to lean towards and that could definitely be it.
