Kings Lynn have the potential in their team to do a lot better than recent visiting teams, especially if Fricke, Cook, and Kvech are on it.

The Polish clubs get significant support from their local authorities some of whom actually own the stadium. TV income works hand in hand with major advertisers and the clubs sponsors which enables the teams to fund the promotion at a profit (but sometimes not all of the time) the big factor re income and success is gate receipts. If teams do well and or the table toppers are in town then gates remain good. Not so if the club is having a poor season v another struggling team.

I think if we get 40 we'll have done well.

This should be at least as good as last week’s meeting with almost every race “out of the top drawer”. Lynn have a good few racers in their team and I can see them contributing to more speedway for the connoisseur.

Regarding stock cars. Back in the day when Brandon was alive & kicking they held F1 stock car meetings once per month. As did (and still do) Brafield. Should Brandon have new life breathed into it, you can be sure that the F1 promoters will bring Stoxs back to Brandon with no ill effects to attendance given the way they spread meetings over the month using both Saturday & Sundays. As for speedway, if promoted well, rather than suffer due to the existence of Northampton, the close proximity will be good for both clubs (and Leicester) due to local Derbies/rivalry.

That just creates more competition though. People can’t be bothered to attend speedway when they have nothing else to do that evening. Offer alternative entertainment options and imo speedway would be well down the list.

Avoiding weekends without longstanding historical precedence is stupid. There's a reason most things happen at weekends and that's because people are too tired during the week or don't want a late night before work. So Friday and Saturday nights, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons are premium times for any entertainment.

Given that Riga is a purpose built permanent speedway track, there is no reason for the quality of racing resemble the temporary track that was built at Ratina, Tampere for the two stagings of the Finnish GP in 2014-15.

The big money comes in through the sponsorship and TV coverage.with "the prize" being huge contracts... Huge budgets means riders earning circa €800k for riding for your local speedway team will inevitably bring local, and national, interest, and a decent following... The whole thing then looks "big time", which can only be a good thing when being viewed by the general public... The GP's still pay out decent money with anyone regularly in and around the top six earning £80k to £100k over a season of 10 GP's.. And winning the World Final was never a massive cash prize but the World Champion made big money over the coming 12 months.. I seem to remember it was said in the late 70's it was worth up to £250k in sponsorship, points money, and lucrative appearance fees.. Zmarzlik currently nationally advertisers Aztorin Watches which will be a very nice earner for him I would suggest, especially given the price point they sell at.. Again, bringing "eyeballs" to the sport through his appearance in the adverts.. UK Speedway desperately needs to look "big time" and quickly, and, somehow, bringing big money into it will deliver those optics.. Hopefully someone can make it happen...

Don't know about the others, but Hackney greyhounds ran on Thursday and Saturday nights, so there was no problem with "Make it a Date, Friday at Eight" for speedway.

As much as I agree, and I work in new build Construction, the council will not build on that side of the A22, its rural with lots of stables and no infrastructure in place for the area. Bob Dugard tried many years ago to sell the land for development, it just wont happen IMHO

Contrived teams being just put together, with minimal affinity being felt by many who closely follow the sport.. It doesn't engender that emotional loyalty that a team sport needs to be successful.... Crowds are better at the weekends than when they have played during the week though.. And heading to the knockout stage the interest and crowds are expected to grow... Sounds strangely familiar....

Let’s hope the Stars turn up with a positive attitude, unlike the last few teams that have turned up. The paying customers deserve a competitive meeting… and who knows, maybe an away win.

Dull SGP that even seemed to drag when just watching the races and FFWing the bits in-between. Track seems to lack banking.

They can still reach the play-offs.From 2nd to 5th it’s just 1 point difference. No one will beat Bydgoszcz but avoiding the play-downs is important as i’m not sure who is favourite to go down to National league from the play-downs. Pila perhaps ?

RIP Arthur, showing my age here but I remember as a kid when his form picked up at Cradley when he was partnered with Anders Michanek. Great memories. I think there's a video on youtube of Arthur in action at Monmore Green, where he was taken out by Heorge Hunter, in a Midland's 3TT I think.

Statements like that from councils is about as reliable as the rule book in speedway, time and money talks. I bet a asset company has already started there phone calls offering big bucks and are ready to sit on the land and a slowly dilapidating stadium until the council has further thoughts on the situation.
