  1. Past hour
  2. I wouldn't blame any young foreign rider who signed mid way through the season to miss national team meetings no matter how inconsequential they seem. There are a lot of very talented young Danes and Villads needs to ride in these meetings to show he is committed and fast so he'll be picked for the bigger meetings over his peers.
  3. 8.81 champ average I think when the averages change on the 1st
  4. Was looking forward to watching Nagel round the wide open spaces of the Northside track , but the Danish under 19's is such a important event in the grand scheme of world speedway . He's not quite at Thomas H Jonasson level at missing meetings for a Scottish club , but its getting close .
  5. heat 1 curse! last year and this heat 1 is not a good one for him.
  6. When my old man passed away in 2022 I found a load of old camera slides of meetings we had attended in the late 80s and early 90s - it brought back memories for sure! One thing that stood out was just how much more packed the terraces were!
  7. BV v Wolves in the early 90's were some of the best meetings I have ever watched... Both Home and Away... Ott, The Moran's, Screen, Lyons, Ermolenko, The Karlssons, Correy Jones, etc... Brilliant racing, with many last heat deciders... Then air fences came in to narrow both tracks, and laydowns came in to put power down on the track differently...
  8. Today
  9. There was loads of great races back in the day. Before bikes got too fast. Watch any race with Moran v Nielsen in it.
  10. I seem to remember he didn't do very well in that position earlier on in the season
  11. Not quite on the same lines as the other posts but I bought some photo's off Vinted from Newport that were taken on the corner I used to stand with my old man after a few too many sherbets last week. The lady kindly put in a host a of old programmes that her uncle had left, opened the package at my old mans and they turned out to be his old programmes dating back to the early 70s and up to 2004. He'd sold them on just after Newport closed and I've somehow managed to get them back. Great Sunday afternoon reminiscing over lunch
  12. I’ve only ever been to Brandon once, dad took me to the Grand Prix challenge final I think 2009 not exactly sure of the year, holder hampel and zorro making it through to the Grand Prix, was an absolutely fantastic meeting, great racing and hotly contested all night, zorro was made of steel that night picked himself up off the deck 3 or 4 times to get the final win he needed to make the cut
  13. I think Ipswich will take this with a little to spare... Could be the last match for Edwards, I'm assuming Jenkins will come back in, anyone know any more on this? Was also checking earlier and it looks like Emil will be at number 1 for the playoffs
  14. enjoy I was there for that sat in the grandstand
  15. another great memory foor me was my first visit to Foxhall in 1988 for the England v Denmark test match against expectation England won 47-43, Silver top scoring from reserve and old Kelvin T holding off Hans Nielsen in one heat with his loose race jacket flapping round his face!!
  16. I would certainly describe the racing as frantic at times particulary in the latter stages of the meeting, as for actual passing you may well be right BUT - one of my abiding memories of Brandon is Jason Lyons (always one of my favourites) passing Rickardson on the final bend of a heat in the SGP at Coventry in 2000! Fantastic bit of never give up riding!
  17. I've only been to Kings Lynn twice - once was to a British semi final i think about 1989ish and then a BH Monday clash between the Stars and Bradfrod from May 1990 - both times place was packed out.
  18. Ah that’s a shame, still be a cracker of a meeting nowhere. Glasgow fans always travel well too so hopefully a good gate
  19. Pete's interview on BSN would suggest Premiership racing. Maybe they'll sack the Championship off.
  20. I was thinking about the Pirates too...😁 Him and Leon Madsen at six and seven... ☺️ Payback for having to ride on a Thursday, a day when no one in Poole is allowed out... 😁
  21. Been doing some digging and looks as if Boothby took out a questionable couple of loans from Tallaght Financial Ltd recently. Not a good sign. On the surface you would expect Oxford finances to be healthy. Good crowds (although they have wained somewhat through this season). If they can’t afford to pay riders on the basis of that, something is definitely wrong. I would suggest all is not well in the Boothby camp. Where is @Bojangles, he seems to know what’s going on behind the scenes?
  22. Unfortunately he is not back for Saturday, which is a shame as I suspect he would love the Workington track, our only benefits that his average would be 6.86 available for a guest or R,/R but I would rather see how Villads would go
  23. Superb memories loved the British final at Coventry. Right up there with the Fours at Peterborough. Two of the best days out they were.
  24. They'd just have a facility for him the whole year... I was thinking more Poole, they still seem to love him down there and that's probably more his level these days
  25. Waiting for tales of all the great meetings/memories from the Manchester dog track to flood this topic 😂
  26. To the South West? 2.00 I would think....😁 A new regulation... The launch of the Polish RS Scheme in the UK..😁
