  1. Past hour
  2. That speaks volumes of how well the BSPL promoted it !!! go on the website homepage and under the more option it will appear.
  3. Today
  4. Can only assume it’s me not paying attention but I never even heard of the British speedway podcast
  5. I've not seen it but just from reading the description on updates it sounded like a nothing fall... and he was stuck under the air fence. Another case of a rider ending up under the air fence, why is this still happening some 20 years after their introduction 🤷‍♂️
  6. That's because all involved it the Redcar track preparation are completely clueless and have been since Johnny swales resigned.
  7. I would imagine they are waiting for all rider contracts to be signed before they announce, that would be my guess.
  8. Is there still nothing on the riders for the coming season?
  9. I was sitting about 20 yards away and had a clear view of the track. From what i recall, Underwood hit a rut mid bends 3-4 and lost control. He clattered into Ray who was on a wider line. As you say, Ray went under the fence and sustained a broken femur. Doug i think flew over the fence and landed on the dog track without serious injury. It was of course already a dreadful season, but the sight of Ray being loaded into the ambulance added a big extra feeling of gloom. I think it was a league match v Reading, result something like 31-47?
  10. Shame about Charles getting injured last night, but not the first & wont be the last unfortunately to have it happen. Short & long term replacements are going to be hard to find I think. Drew Kemp & Nikolai Klindt spring to mind, or a fresh foreign signing in the hope he comes good very quickly. Oh the joys of promotion/management🙈
  11. Very much so, can be season ending or even worse, hopefully not poor lad.
  12. No just same time every year, and I have a good memory, not lost me marbles yet 😜
  13. Out for a while after a fall last night, dislocated and fractured shoulder.
  14. All they have to do is make press & practice day... I wonder if Plymouth still have their spare rider in storage somewhere? Maybe put him on a train and send him up to Northampton just to familiarise the new Northampton fans just what they're getting themselves into 😁
  15. Rules say... A Reduced facility (No Facility in British Development) only, is permitted to replace a rider, who although included in a re-declaration has not made an appearance for that team since being re-declared. however there is another rule that says.... A team may utilise a facility to cover the absence of a rider(s) who has been approved in a teams declared 1-7 at the start of the season but due to extenuating circumstances is not available, a facility may be granted, up to a maximum of 28 days, at the SCB Co-Ordinators discretion. So I guess changes maybe on the cards for Redcar.
  16. According to Mark Lemon in the Speedway Star, the promoters (who and how many not confirmed), and some "outside investors"... Attracting a fanbase to support a team put together by the owners and promoters of some/all (?) of your opponents in the same league could be a bit of a tough sell... If they don't do well some may not be "too surprised" given their opponents put the team together..
  17. No media day this year and now they are ditching the British speedway podcast as well as a cost cutting measure. Apparently due to no tv deal. This is a great shame as it was a very good professional podcast It seems utter madness to not have either to promote our sport. We now have Northampton which is a fantastic boost for the sport but that’s a bigger secret than the Masons. What on earth do those supposedly running the premiership thinking of. We should be looking up to the levels of Poole and Glasgow rather than dumbing down to the levels of Scunthorpe two of the best things to emerge in the last ten years are BSN and Team GB Which shows what can be achieved with competent forward thinking management.
  18. Good to see some new riders coming through. I hear Cairnds is quite useful too.
  19. I wish Northampton well , but it does look a bit of cobbled together by Premiership Promotions to save theirselves.Who is chipping in the cash to get this project up and running though is the question that remains a mystery .
  20. Yes. They will, especially as he is already an established Redcar rider from last season, and a few before that. As opposed to someone who they had just signed from somewhere else. Initially the facility will be for 28 days, but I wouldn't see a problem with that being extended if necessary.
  21. Palovaara scored a very respectable 9 for Newcastle select against Redcar last night. Fingers crossed he can maintain that Kind of scoring when he takes to the track as a Bandit.
  22. If that Newcastle was signed to ride in the championship this year with relevant reductions etc I make it about 2.6 points over
  23. Indeed, they could be be on the phone a fair bit in the next few days/weeks. It's certainly not an ideal start for the newcomers...
