What about Northampton?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The site I was referring to is close to cradley heath but houses are literally 100yards from edge of land, the rocky lane site is perfect in every aspect but the council for whatever reason don’t seem keen to have it there, 3 other sites have potential but are 5 miles from cradley but one especially has a very major plus going for it but dealing with councils is a drag, it can be weeks/months be for you get a reply, we contacted entain about a track share to run wolves on a Monday and cradley on a Wednesday but they said not at this time(whatever that means) ? - Today

Deanno, what do we consider to be to close to houses ? surely BV is close to houses but it is something the council wanted so it was allowed, surely if something improves the area as a whole then it can be put forward for outline planning permission ?, discounting farmers fields i am aware of pretty much 99.9% of sites around Cradley Heath obviously their is no ideal site otherwise it would have been found by now, ideally a track share with Wolves would be ideal and if a site was big enough a track within a track could be the way to track share (the inside track for Wolves), The Lion Farm site just off Junction 2 of the M5 would have been ideal for a project such as that, but again the local council prefer to let the site become more and more run down before it eventually becomes uneconomic to repair and will be sold off to developers, in the meantime they refuse to lease the site and receive an annual rental income which could have been be reinvested. -
Not sure the size of track makes for good racing,, it's the room on entry and exits of the corners that make for good or bad racing.

Maybe they could get Foz on the nitro and Helium,, would make it a bit more interesting

I'm impressed with what I have seen so far 400 mtr track should produce some good racing ,as has been said it will have to comply to get a license . Most of the work seems fairy straight forward they have the infra instructor it is more adaption to co-exist with the stoxs that needs to be done ,there will be a cost but assume that has been factored into the project .

This has been done previously at Belle Vue, Leicester & Workington. Good to see other clubs come along and carry the burden - well done. Maybe you’ll discover another Bailey, Bickley, Bewley, Flint, Hodder, Howarth, Pearson, Smith or Worrall to use in your team to help you show the way.

Vintage races are Jade Mudgway & Theo Pijper for Redcar vs Stuart Swales and Stuart Robson for Newcastle

i for one am looking forward to it coming off. Haven't been to a meeting since the demise of Elfield Park @ MK however, having watch some on Sky & youtube. All the messing around at the start is off putting. My one concern is, 6 teams in the league!!! Really should look back to 64/65. Think there should be an amalgamation. link for Defunct tracks. http://www.defunctspeedway.co.uk/Brafield.htm

No wonder they got in a financial mess last season, poor business acumen. Have a nice day geoff100 😄

Ryan and Luke both raced in yesterdays amateur meeting, and both put in some very impressive performances, especially Ryan pulling off some fantastic moves to beat Jake Mulford three times, and recording a time of 59.36 too!

One of these days you might have something positive to say until then do one!

This is literally the same as posting a picture of a field before the new Workington track was laid and saying "it's a bit bumpy at the new Worky track" 🤣
-
Can we all be on our best behaviour please we don't want to scare off our new friends from Northampton 😉😁
