Dear Misunderstood, not sure why you're so upset? As a Berwick fan you ran Poole very close when Lawson was missing with illness (he also missed Ipswich and got a 7 day ban) and Berwick ran with a guest before knocking Poole out of the Cup. Have faith........😇

There is a long list of riders who people thought might break through but ultimately never did, in recent times you have had riders like Zack W who still does grass and long track, Ashton B who has also gone to other two wheeled disciplines. Its easy to look back through rose tinted glasses, but I miss the days when you had a junior meeting after the main 4 vs 4 over 6 heats.

Oh Rob T - what a guy. Stevens was a bit like dear old Bodger - had the ability but was often inconsistent. I think the Arena track was a bit of a shock to them also after starting in the old British League. Being paired with Tilbury was never easy for any rider, I seem to recall he was steady enough but just not that fast.

Never any issues with Richard when he was with us at Lakeside and I think it helped that he seemed to have a very good working relationship with Cookie, extremely well liked by the fans and won the last ever race at the arena.

I thought it was a thread about a meeting between Poole and Berwick. And my opinion on that topic was one team shouldn’t be allowed a guest in this and other meetings. Clearly I’ve misunderstood.

Went to Arena in 1990 and never really showed his promise! Think he drifted away after that season.

I do blame the rules. And I’m also fairly confident in this instance I brought this up and it’s been Poole supporters including you who have replied. So not really a lot of discussion.

Not sure there would be so much discussion on Bowes not riding if it had been another team but either way this has happened many times before so don't blame Poole blame the rules

Would have thought it more sensible to pick top 8, which would include Lambert.

He regularly turns up late, ill prepared, has to borrow equipment and even a race suit. Often fails to participate in team talks and victory parades. Very unprofessional. Having said all of that more often than not he's our best rider and out performs his average and expectation.

If riding in Denmark how is that allowed to happen? Fair enough if he was Danish but obviously he isn't. I thought Poole were supposed to be the most professional team in GB speedway? Sounds like they are just as amateurish as the rest!

I’m quite sure that if I’d been sacked I’d be trying to spin it in my favour also. I’m not really having a go at Poole or Bowes. It’s the grey or completely missing areas in the rules. It’s crackers that any team can just boot a rider, legitimately or not and rely on much better guests. Two weeks of R/R then employ someone regardless. There’s loads of riders who would jump at an opportunity like that.
