  1. Past hour
  2. Are you speaking from experience? or presuming what some people say is correct??
  3. Yes Wolves and Peterborough next Protection normally is for 3 years
  4. Two ex gp riders who are on the way down and both have attitude issues.
  5. Max did ok last year at glasgow and he had some bad crashes to
  6. batch is still a good rider on his day ill agree he dont look too hungry anymore but still has skill we all slow down as we get older and dont push or take as many risks if and its maybe a big if cook is back that would be 2 ex gp riders in the team
  7. Disagree Batch is nowhere near a number 1 anymore.
  8. I've never said Hume was gonna jump up a level, my original point was disagreeing with this comment "he will not improve, I don't get why people can't grasp that" - to me that's a very strong statement. There's no evidence he won't improve, it's not like he's gone downhill year after year. I looked at slightly different averages, counting a full season not just the rolling aves, as the 2022 season only had a 10 match rolling ave so doesn't show his form for the whole season, plus his 2025 average carried half of 2024 matches. So in 2025 he had his best average in the Champ, that doesn't suggest to me, he'll never improve. 2021 - 4.98 2022 - 5.54 2023 - 4.90 2024 - 4.99 2025 - 5.68 my Hume comments have been: "but why were you so sure he wouldn't improve?" "He may not get any better, but I wouldn't say he can't" Edit: just noticed since he left Glasgow, he's never dropped back down to reserve.
  9. So it's Douglas, Masters, Becker, Howarth & Kemp ... add Flint to the mix... wait did Wolves ever have that team?
  10. Today
  11. It seems a sensible team to me but nothing will or can be announced until the powers at be declare the rules for top tier league speedway in the UK for 2026.
  12. But if ride in polish top league can only ride in 2 other countries.
  13. Quite a complex sale then you would think, given so many intangibles... The "fixed assets" would be pretty simple (ish) I would think, although with Stox there too, there may be some "cross over" and the landlord owns some fixtures and fittings that Speedway uses? Eg the fence around the track maybe (?).. But "goodwill" will be something widely open to negotiation you would suggest... Presume it would be based on average income per meeting, with just KO Cup and PO Qualifiers included as they are the only guaranteed meetings..? (Reaching finals not being guaranteed, and, possibly, less meetings due to a reduced number of teams).. And any sponsors already committed to next year would be, presumably, brought into the equation as "guaranteed income"...? Operating costs though, next year could be less given Emil won't be riding, and, again, possibly less meetings to pay out for overall... You have to hope it all gets worked out and Ipswich come to the tapes...
  14. Perry on his fb page saying not got a championship place yet but has been talking to 2 clubs
  15. This question has been answered numerous times, not only in this particular thread but also in similar topics within the forum. In short a buyer would be purchasing the assets & goodwill to run speedway in Ipswich.
  16. Could it be all those surplus two team scarves from last season’s grand final between Ipswich and Leicester. The teams with the nicest most sporting fans ?
  17. I wonder if Jake Paul fancies a seat on the speedway futures committee. Anyone who can pull in 70 mill for his taking the pi55 fight with AJ obviously has the Midas touch. Something sadly lacking in the custodians of our once great sport.
  18. What exactly does "Ipswich Speedway Promotions Limited" own? I assume they don't own the track and they don't own the riders. So what exactly is somebody buying?
  19. Hasn't the defrosting of Russell's Swindon licence elapsed and anybody is free to run Swindon now?
  20. That top 3 riders would be good as you have said there are 3 riders there who could be a number 1 rider
  21. If Christopher Louis cannot get a buyer for "Ipswich Witches Seedway Limited" (including start gate air fence tractor and flags), I guess Spedeworth could thank him for his past business, ask him to clear out his equipment from their stadium, and allow Terry Russell's newly formed Ipswich "Robins" Speedway Limited to do a deal with Spedeworth to rent the stadium . If the Robins supplied all thier own equipment and defrosted their former Swindon license , what could be the problem? Riders are all self employed so no issues there. In theory Russell could do a deal with former Robin Jason Doyle to race for him. Louis's retirement from the sport does not grant him a lifetime exclusive ownership of speedway promoting rights at the Spedeworth owned stadium ?
  22. No doubt the fee/pay rate for the meeting would have made it worthwhile doing, and the increased crowd level covered the extra expense to the promoter. I can well imagine today's riders doing it if the money was right, but would the crowd level cover it today?
  23. Because Bartoz Zmarzlik is by quite a long way the most naturally talented exciting speedway rider that has ever to set foot on a speedway bike and soon to become the greatest rider of all time too, he rides the bike like nobody past or present does and that’s where I stand, him being the ONE rider, quite simple really, I am in no way saying any British club should sign him even if the got him cheap ,I shall go to Poland to watch him if I want to see him race, I’m merely making the point he is the one rider who I would happily pay to see race multiple times a season
