It was good to see Bewley so visibly disappointed with the loss which I took to be a good sign, he's not really shown that before. -

Feel a bit for Bewley having to settle for 2nd on the night especially after that heat 19. But we'd have all taken the two Brits getting to the final & Zmarzlik not looking invincible before the meeting. A Kurtz sophomore slump could be due. The post heat 12 tractoring was hard to endure inside the stadium but the racing afterwards made up for it. Who knew a Coventry Bee could win a GP still. -

Looked like a proverbial gating tart to me ๐ -
Edinburgh might win at Glasgow tomorrow and still get through. If Dan had been at Berwick, Edinburgh would still have needed something at Glasgow as they wouldn't have won tonight (possibly got the bonus point). Both teams severely hampered by missing number ones (Berwick missed Peter last night also).

Great win at workington tonight our reserves were the difference. I think workington might be a bit more harder to beat when they have all there team fit again. -

Well done the Bears best team won today, you caught us vulnerable and ruthlessly exposed our frailties. It is notable just how much Jody Scott has progressed since his 4 from 4 for the Bears last season after replacing Tom Spencer in the Bears septet. He has an able ally at reserve in Ace Pijper and it was the 17 points from these two that won the meeting for the Bears. Somewhat surprisingly Jake Allen decided to turn in his best meeting at Northside, same rider only scored 3 points over two meetings for the Scorpions last season, must be the magic Bears race jacket that does it. Nicolai seems to save his absolute best for Northside, his race with Jonas in heat 15 was a bit special. Jonas has impressed with how he treats his racing and just what a fierce competitor he is, an absolutely joy to watch. Real shame we haven't managed to qualify for the semi finals after the hard fought victory at Scunny last night. Special mention to Steve Lawson, great track prep, with a moisture content that facilitated a high standard of racing throughout without any noticeable dust. ๐ -
I think that's what they tried, on their day most of the side can score double figures, but also they can score 2 or 3. Probably need most to be in form every match as they don't have enough quality to cover off form riders.
