  1. Past hour
  2. Are they in the room with you at this moment? 😉
  3. No, there are many clubs we have or have had a rivalry with and that is good, absolutely nothing wrong with that. I am sure we all hope no more clubs disappear.
  4. Hope you don't disappear, love coming down when the Comets are riding, to look at the luxury boats before going to the speedway 😁, and I won't be able to post on here anymore to keep the pilots fans happy 🤪🙃
  5. Yes plenty of people do that and that is fine, most Poole fans are used to that but there is one or two who would take pleasure in our demise.
  6. Plenty of people down the years have had a pop at Poole, me included. I don't recall any of them expressing satisfaction at any doubt cast over the club's operating future, though as in all things I stand to be corrected!
  7. Graham Warren had the potential to be World Champion. Third in the 1950 World Championship but a bad accident in New Zealand early in 1951 left him with a fractured skull and, although he returned to the saddle and became a reasonably good rider, he never quite returned to the heights he had reached before his accident, even though he did come 5th twice in the World Championship in 1952 and 53. But he was certainly a case of what might have been. 1963 was his final season before retirement.
  8. Not absurd at all, you are correct that any fan worth their salt would not want the demise of yet another speedway club but unfortunately that does not apply to everybody who comments on Poole threads.
  9. Today
  10. That did make me laugh. Underrated post!
  11. I am not sure it will be the same, Czestochowa and Grudziadz have no Sunday fixtures, Gorzow only 2.
  12. Don't be absurd. Our sport is on the ropes and any fan worth their salt would be delighted that a well-resourced and stable club is securing at least its immediate future.
  13. That would be quite an impressive line up plenty of depth to that team and having Jeppesen or Howarth at reserve will provide a strong reserve all season.
  14. To answer your question directly, the first two fixtures for each round I've listed as Friday, and the second two fixtures for each round I've listed as Sunday. I've taken these from the official Ekstraliga announcement. The last couple of years, Ekstraliga announced the fixtures in the same way and closer to each round they then confirmed which meetings were Friday and which were Sunday. Last year, in one round, they swapped two fixtures around, so that one they'd listed as probably Friday became a Sunday fixture and one which was listed as probably Sunday became a Friday fixture. So, it may be they're going to do this again this year, but as R+R said above, the final confirmation will come earlier this year, they've said it'll be at least 6 weeks before the relevant round. Obviously as we find out, if there are any changes I'd list them immediately.
  15. I’d assume they’d do that when all the riders are announced
  16. Adam Ellis is definitely in the team then!
  17. 1986 - in the British League the Stars won only two away matches (Reading and Swindon), and lost all at home. They had won two and drawn two at home in the League Cup, but lost all away. 85, 86, and 87 were three consecutive Wooden Spoons for the Deadbeets. Kevin Brice was one of those remarkable riders who kept going whatever happened. At Foxhall we called him Binary Brice because his score chart was often just ones and noughts 🙂
  18. Wasn't stingray in that team as well?
  19. Bonkers again and poor old Tolley stumped up, if he manages to get Cradley up and running he needs to get a good team around him and stop paying bang average riders wages that Emil and Kurtz would warrant.
  20. A load of mishapes, misfits, and crackers at the AGM - although, as you say, no-one knows what biscuits they had ...
  21. That’s why Ipswich didn’t retain Rew. He wanted same money as Doyle apparently.
  22. Serviced an engine this week, don’t know what oil they were using but it was a dreadful smelling oil, bit like hydraulic oil type of smell, made my finger smell touching it
  23. I remember going as a kid with my dad in the 70’s , it was that smell that made me want to go again and again. That and getting splattered in shale on the bends . And an hot dog 🌭. The racing was a bonus.
  24. Not much of a smell these days, back in the day it was Castrol R oil that made the smell, but a lot of the oils are synthetic these days
