  3. I would like to praise the Glasgow fans for being very welcoming and gracious in defeat. I sat in the grandstand and there wasn't any negative words spoken against their own riders or Poole's. Applause was there for all riders throughout the meeting and for the presentations. Many a Glasgow fan and official, even the referee, shook my hand in congratulations. The Glasgow set up take a bow. Congratulations Poole PIRATES ☠️ on winning the Championship League Title 🏆 2025 u've done us all proud. Gonna enjoy my celebration flat white ☕ 😀 C'mon the Boyzzz ☠️ 💪 yes yes yes!
  4. I'm pretty much gonna say the same. Congrats to Poole and Lewis Kerr was your matchwinner. I would also have put Flint out in the Super Heat, buts that hindsight for you. Last night was my first at Ashfield in a few years and it reminded me why i love he sport. Gutted we lost but i came away just happy that I'd seen an awesome meeting.
  5. Fantastic meeting. Congratulations to Poole. For me, Kerr won it for Poole by his pass on Thompson in heat 12 scrubbing the possibility of a Glasgow win without the need for a super heat.
  6. Yesterday
  7. We interviewed Chris Harris because he won, by quite some way the public vote as rider of the night. This was after the trophy presentation and while the Poole riders were at the other side of the stadium being interviewed. The rest of the Poole rider interviews are on Facebook and have been viewed 9000 times so far. We also interviewed Richard Lawson and Zach Cook on the main show as soon as they took their helmets off after the super heat.
  8. Well done Poole, the better team won imo. Glasgow gave it everything but Poole did what was required when it mattered. Racing was excellent and show cased the Sport in a great light.
  9. Great meeting to attend, the fans tried there best to get the Tigers over the line but it was heartbreak in the ill named Superheat. Should 30 heats of league title Speedway really be decided like that ?. You will be lucky to see a better individual performance than that from Bomber tonight. His hunting down and outrageous passes had to be witnessed live to really appreciate the skill and courage involved. He tried his best to get them over the line but ultimately failed. Like you say the Pirates gated better in both of heats 15 and 16 and it did slicken off enough to preclude him repeating his heroics of heat 15. Don't think Kyle Howarth was the man for the Superheat following his performance in 15. His gating also hadn't been great throughout the meeting. The Pirates found enough to do it again, you can only admire them for that but it would have been nice to see the Tigers lift the trophy.
  10. Stayed at Shorefield Country Club this week {sounds posh} persuaded the wife to attend the Poole meeting with me on Wednesday night. Back in the day when we had southern tours, it was always a trip to Poole after Berwick had been at Weymouth the previous night. So my last visit to Poole was a 39-39 draw with Kings Lynn in 1980 when i was just a youngster. Arrived early on Wednesday as i reminded the wife, this is not Berwick where i can finish my pint at 6-50pm and flash my season ticket and walk straight in. Big queues already forming but we steadily moved further forward then shock horror we were in the cash only line, but i had bought tickets online looked at the queue for that line and well a few swear words under my breath lol. But a Poole fan then hearing our plight and we had came from Berwick let us into the queue so whoever you were sir a big thankyou. i have read the comments about the meeting not being the best you will ever see, with very little happening once riders came out the 2nd bend but the score kept it interesting till the end. But apart from that i found the meeting was run very slickly, excellent PA System ensured we did not miss any announcements or race results and the kingsize hotdog went down well. Met forum member @LisaColette as well. Meeting was done and dusted by around 9-15pm, so plenty time to get to station to get train back to New Milford. Just like to offer my congratulations following tonight's result at Glasgow on becoming 2025 Champions,
  11. Villads is not riding championship next season, too busy across Europe. There are already a number of riders I am aware of who have AGREED deals to double up next season, so forget one league nonsense.
  12. Jenkins won’t be back at Ipswich next year I doubt, potentially not Emil either but we will see. Chris Harris already signed a contract so clearly he knows what the crack is about the leagues and it isn’t one big one!
  13. It'll need to be some night to vanquish Poole being "the demise of British Speedway". Sadly, I won't be here for the diatribe tomorrow and the days after, and after that and...., but I'll catch up when I can.
  14. Poor soul, probably out celebrating that most entertaining track trophy. 😁
  15. @TheWellBehavedWorrall Quiet tonight mate. You were all cannons on Wednesday. Got some passing so I thought you'd be delighted.
  16. Flint is 100%effort but he very one dimensional in his riding, can’t make an inside pass and just holding on at times with his outside riding. When you see the class of Zack Cook against him in heat 14 it shows ,effortless to hold him off.
  17. Agree. It felt BSN were there to crown Glasgow. First thing they did instead of celebrating the victorious team was a dour interview of Harris being disappointed. What about showing the victorious team?
  18. A brilliant meeting for the neutral, a heart pounder for Tigers and Pirates fans. Glasgow did what I expected them to do and started to take control of the meeting until HT 15 when their momentum stopped. After seeing Howarth looking so rattled in the pits after finishing last in 15 I thought surely he would be replaced. A 2nd and 3rd repeat in the super heat would have been enough but Cook and Lawson finished in style. Much has been said about the first leg track conditions, but why on earth would Poole set up the track to suit Glasgow? First look at Ashfield tonight before the meeting was as predicted, outside chopped up and super grippy for Harris. Nobody would have expected anything less. I rarely post these days , but it is always a pleasure to look in every now and then and enjoy reading the displeasure of the Pirates continued success from the anti Poole brigade. Up the Pirates
  19. Has Glasgow now taken over the “best track in Britain” mantle from Belle Vue? Both prepared by Andy Meredith, both fast and smooth but Glasgow provides closer racing IMO
  20. Harris got interviewed because he won the rider of the nite vote, so they present the trophy and do an interview. Then they covered the truck parade and trophy. Well done pilots gated when it mattered and the track slickened off so bomber struggled to pass. But a fantastic watch speedway was definitely the winner tonight
