What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

We can learn from Poland but we have got to stop trying to be or even compete with them -

For me what’s happening now is another missed opportunity just like in 2020 to reset the sport on a better path -
Really surprises me this. Any particular reason I’m missing why Brennan is seemingly not popular up Sheffield way?
-
Sometimes it’s not all about the money you earn. learning of two pros like Danny and Scotty that may be less money now, could be worth more in the long term.

At one time the Mildenhall fish and chips had a brilliant reputation among the stock car and banger fans. I found the Rye House chippy was brilliant at speedway meetings but not as good at stock car meetings for some unknown reason.

No thanks
-
If that was team and he was up for it Be decent Id not be surprised to see dayle Wood in team to be honest
-
Im just wondering, with Kemp seemingly not back at Berwick, if he and SD have "gone their separate ways" and an experienced rider with past success at Leicester could be a better choice at 6?

Why do we need 25-30 Championship number 1’s to maintain the standard of the Championship, for 5 more teams? It would be the likes of Ben Cook, Lidsey, Chris Holder, NKI, Klindt, any of them wanting to stay in Britain, which plenty of them will with a decent fixture list, coupled with a few newcomers to the league on assessed 6/5/4 from around the world, and the next 5-10 NL riders to step up. It would certainly stretch the Championship out and racing wouldn’t be near as good due to the differing standard of riders, maybe you resort to 6 man teams instead, but you don’t need 25 number ones, you’d get them from the Premiership I think. BV - Ben Cook/Blodorn/Lidsey Sheff - Chris Holder Lynn- Klindt/NKI Ippo - Brennan/Rew Leicester - Douglas/Becker Northampton/Pboro - Tungate/One of the above -
I agree with you think Morris is the only one signed so far that will definitely up his average, maybe PK slightly, can't see any improvement on the other two (of the most sought after signatures)😂

Berwick need to learn the Bastian Borke lesson from last season if they are really thinking about re-signing Danyon Hume.
-
A thought occured to me, with 2 GPs at Belle Vue once more in 2026, Glasgow looking at staging one in the future & available speedway stadia in the Uk not sufficient in size for one GP meeting: anyone know what is the capacity of Owlerton with the turns 2 & 3 / back straight terracing being open ? Like I said, just a thought....
-
It's TRUE - they really were.
-
100% aye. Be massively shocked if Berwick dont win the treble next season. Can see PK adding at least 2 pts to his ave, Victor should add at least say 3? The peoples champion Danyon could rival PK for the number 1 bib as well? Smith maybe an outside shout for partnering Bewley for GB come the S.O.N? And all of this on top of free parking, dreamy stuff.
-
Would he be though given Plymouth signed Pederson and Crump in the same season ?
-
If those were the numbers, and I was one of the two riders.. I would make sure it went to three races each time, at the home and away legs.. And the decider would also be three races, at a neutral track (like it used to)... Who wins? Well they both do... Kerching...
-
What about Gusts seems suited to big fast tracks
-
Seems a lot for match races. I think one downside of the Gold/Silver helmet challenges was fans didn't usually know in advance of it happening at their track. So the extra needed crowds didn't materialise to pay for the additional racing. But if your figures of £1000 are correct I'd certainly tell the riders where to stick the helmets.

Every business should have its own business plan, but if the collective business model of the industry they work in is failing, then its going to fail despite their individual efforts. -
The maths is done differently than you state I think thats why the figures they come out with are what they are. 2.35 - 2.5% = 2.291 = 2.29 8.60 - 2.5% = 8.385 = 8.39 They are rounding up or down to the final number I think. Although nothing would surprise me so if they decided they wanted to change it on a rider by rider basis I wouldn’t be shocked.

He has been putting in a lot of time in the gym, looks very healthy. Could be a master stroke if his head is back in the game. I’m not sure I can see anyone taking the risk though.

No successful business wants to lose money. They want to thrive in a thriving industry. Which speedway isn’t and won’t be any time soon. No I don’t know their business plan but I know it won’t involve speedway long term. Nobody’s will.
