Just imagine the kicking Sheffield would get on this forum if they unveiled a new logo drawn by a fan. They'd be accused of turning the club logo into some cheap Blue Peter competition - send in your drawings. Sheffield have done the right thing by getting their branding done professionally.

Championship KO Cup Draw

That seems a bit cruel. I always say hello to Mike if I see him in the pits. -
Wasn't it a similar situation with Bristol in the 70's? As I remember, didn't Newport just relocate to Eastville?

Championship KO Cup Draw
martinmauger replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Speaking personally I am quite pleased with the KOC draw, means I (hopefully) get to see Poole at Scunny twice, I missed last year's mach as I was away on important family business. Not actually seen the draw, not sure the size of Inbetweener James Buckely's fee would be but I read somewhere that during lockdown he trousered Β£1 million by sending fans 'video greetings' cards (or whatever they are called) by quoting Inbetweener stuff. Think an ideal guy, no pun intended, to get involved with speedway would be Guy Martin.... -
Take a chill pill. There's no way Ipswich won't be holding speedway in 2026, see you at the first fixtureπ. The last thing the sport needs is vultures circling whilst not paying any money to support it π

Funny because if you do the maths, it's not a 30% reduction across the board: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th all get a 30.00% reduction whereas 2nd gets 27.08%, 10th gets 27.2%, 11th gets 27.08%, 12th gets 26.96%, 13th gets 26.82% and 14th gets 26.67% Very bizarre, so you're actually punished less for finishing 2nd than winning.

Speedway club ignores correspondence from speedway fan offering help... surely not π

The news was a new logo. Funny actually because I reached out to them a couple months ago asking if they'd want me to design them a new team logo for the new season (I even suggested it from the perspective of "this could be a fresh start for you under the new management) and they promptly ignored me π

As has Alan Brazil and both him and Mcoist do a show together... And both are pals with "Arry.. 10 mins on Talksport Breakfast would be much better I would suggest .. Maybe the Prem could do this... Although, they would need to pad it out a bit after the teams have been drawn in 45 secs... -

Yes and they finished 3pts off the bottom, this year i think they will be overtaken by Plymouth. Poole and Glasgow top 2 Redcar, Edinburgh, Oxford and Berwick fighting out for play off spots......probably the most interesting aspect of the season Worky & Plymouth Scunthorpe bottom -

Didn't everyone say the same about workington last year π€π€π€ -
Maybe I'm lucky that in the last few seasons I've been going less and less, as I'm not that bothered if it all goes ahead or not, although it would be a big shame for those who are still mad for it.

Championship KO Cup Draw
The Cheese replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I genuinely had no idea who she was before reading this thread so can't comment on that side except that it would be interesting to know how they came to the decision to choose her for it. It just looks so amateur though. Cameo is to wish people happy birthday or see who's dumb enough to say hello to Mike Hunt, not for what should be a serious competition in a professional sport. You even have the final two sides picked out at the same time! Getting 'a name' to do the draw is a solid idea but surely there were better ways of going about it. As an example TNT commentator Darren Fletcher has some history with the sport, could he have been asked and maybe got someone like Ally McCoist to help out, if I remember correctly he's mentioned Glasgow on his radio show in the last year or so. -
I did not sub to BSN in 2025 and not because of their service but they can only work with what they are given and the product of British Speedway is in the main crap. I don't have a team to support anymore so as a neutral i want to see good racing and most tracks now are so slick because the bikes cant handle anything else. There is no variety with so few clubs and riders riding for multiple, for me its not worth it. Nor do i have cable tv sky etc I stick with watching highlights on social media and looking through more vintage stuff (ie pre laydowns)

Championship Predictions 2026
ouch replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Difficult to predict. π 2019 Poole sorry I mean Leicester beat Glasgow 2020 Poole v Glasgow* 2021 Poole beat Glasgow 2022 Poole beat Glasgow 2023 Glasgow beat Poole 2024 Poole beat Glasgow oops I mean Oxford 2025 Poole beat Glasgow 2026 Poole v Glasgow To soften the blow of three play off defeats to Poole, Glasgow beat Edinburgh when they met for the tenth time last season. *postponed due to Covid. 2019, Poole were unable to meet Glasgow in the play offs as they were in a different league. -

Laminated is the way forward!!

On the other hand, the stand-alone teams need good riders to attract a good crowd.

Ipswich Witches 2026
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Welcome aboard fella! The club you never want to join and the one you hope beyond hope you will be able to rescind membership to at some time in the future Unfortunately after originally only accepting a temporary paper membership certificate for it I have just renewed with a fully laminated version -
Don't worry, things are happening "behind the scenes" and there's 2 big things happening, one is 99% (that could have been Linda Lucardigate) and the other 90% and if they both come off... Speedway in the UK will be just like Polish Speedway, and you can take that to the bank π
