Poole v Redcar, koc 1st leg, Weds 8/10/25.

Oh dear, Steve, you obviously haven’t spent much time on the General Discussions section recently. Apparently it’s very clear that Covid was all a big con (similar to that Climate Change rubbish) inflicted upon us by the shadowy cabals who need to keep us in line. Obviously you’ve got nothing but a heavy cold. Don’t normally root for the Pirates but just for you hope they do the business tonight. -
Grand Final 2nd leg Ipswich vs Leicester
mikebv replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The only chance the Lions have is if riders 2, 3, 4 and 5 can beat their opposite numbers scores by at least 3 points each... Not likely.... Fricke will do well to outscore Emil, and six and seven pretty much have zero chance of out scoring their direct counterparts, meaning Ipswich will add around 8 to their score just by those head to heads.. Witches by around 16 on the night I would think... -
Why would that be a problem? All stadia in use are privately owned but sub let to speedway.

Anyone else hearing that Northampton will be joining the 2026 Premiership with owners new to promoting speedway? -

Speedway in Poland is incredibly well followed in certain areas, but, outside of them, it is still a minority sport... The average attendances for the top league was over 10k per match this year, however, given they only run four matches a week that is "only" 40,000 per week watching the top tier.. A huge amount versus the UK top tier, but just two football matches in the top division over there can smash that... Zmarzlik getting the "Sports Personality Of The Year Award" a few seasons ago, shows the sport does resonate across the country, but it is still a long way from being the No1 Sport over there.. I could see him winning it again this year which, again, would be a boost for Polish Speedway to utilise... -

Aries replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Jenkins has beaten bigger and better riders than Becker the last couple of seasons. Seems some have short memories. The stats don’t lie and Edwards isn’t better than Jenkins on any metric. Anyway, Edwards is now in the team and Jenkins isn’t so it’s all a moot point really. Hopefully Edwards has a good meeting tomorrow and contributes! I’m sure he will. -

We spoke to a taxi driver in Krakow about speedway and he didn't know anything about it. He vaguely recalled playing amateur football on a pitch inside a track once, but had never watched a meeting. Poland is a different world for speedway, but it's hardly like every other Joe Public knows what it is. -

If people think Covid is fake they really are utter numpties. These people really do walk amongst us. Luckily I am up to date in all my flu/covid jabs so the virus isn’t too bad for me and I am on the finishing straight back to health. But it’s very unpleasant and `I have had three solid days where it’s been quite bad. Not as bad as flu which can take you down for 2-3 weeks. Everyone should get fully vaccinated for themselves and their families. Anyway back on topic and Up The Pirates! Let’s beat those Bears and get our first trophy! -

That was a competent ride for sure, he did the same at Sheffield the other season beat Ben Cook I think it was a great ride to hold him off. He is developing well. If itsa. call as to which one to have next season I wouldn't want to make it as I like and rate both of them as decent prospects Despite Rew guesting i which is better than R/R - I feel Witches are weaker without Adam! -

It’s a minority sport and we just have to accept the fact.It was popular in UK at one time but is slowly slipping into obscurity nowadays. It’s credibility as a professional sport is low,and attracting new fans and keeping them is a problem.IMO Other forms of Bike Sport in GB are doing OK these days though and attracting decent attendances. -

I think Edward’s rides better under pressure. Doesn’t panic or make mistakes which I’m not sure you can say about Jenkins who appears a bit more accident prone. Would Jenkins have beaten Becker? I doubt it. -
