  1. Past hour
  2. I hope they have some heat leaders lined up as most rumours are linking Danny King back to Redcar and obviously not sure if Scott Nicholls is riding next season
  3. Only stipulation is highest averaged ride has to ride at number 1, you can place your other riders anywhere in the 2-5 riding order, but usually have second highest at 5 and third highest at 3
  4. Why would they move and have the extra expense, the moved down for it was not making enough money. They are the best supported Club in the Championship. Most Clubs in UK are losing money over the season and just surviving.
  5. Same old same old, been their done that
  6. So Oxford signing Brennan alongside Masters means the one 8 point rider rule has been scrapped (do Poole have more than one rider over 8?) which means the Bears could sign Nicolai Klindt (who was at the awards night on saturday) as a twin spearhead alongside Charles Wright, would mean some jiggery pockery with the rest of the team as Scott and Southwick already signed up for 2027.
  7. Great to see Kyle back racing and having Tom back in the championship. Does that therefore mean that teams will be able to list their riders in any order (for the top 5). As an example Oxford will have three riders with an average above the Berwick number 1.
  8. It’s going to be Kyle Howarth. Proper racer, gives it his all, been a good Championship number 1 and 5 over the last 5-6 years great to have 3 riders capable of being number 1
  9. All Poole fans want is to win the league, second tier champions. Same again 2027 season so just give them the title now. Thought Poole might of moved up and challenged themselves, must boring to watch especially home meetings, I'd rather watch a team that lost now and again.
  10. Sad to see him retire great racer a very fair rider could beat anyone on his day but of a late age injury have caught up with him ,pity he couldn't do a season over here to swell his pension fund.
  11. I get the impression it will be Nicholls or Howarth, maybe Howarth not wanting to commute so much anymore for home meetings and Nicholls with Plymouth being uncertain.
  12. Cluff a strong possibility for the comets imo.
  13. They get far bigger crowds than us, but isn’t their entrance fee cheap as chips compared to ours? I honestly don’t know I’ve never seen a meeting in Poland, but I seem to remember reading it was cheap to attend there. So a crowd two/three/four times as big as ours may not be as lucrative as you might think.
  14. Nothing will happen until the clubs fail to pay the riders. It won't matter how many millions of Zloty they maybe in debt, if they can put a team of riders on track each week & those riders are paid they will come back the next week. It's only when those riders are not paid or not paid correctly then the problem will surface.
  15. But I’m still interested in the fact Oxford are going for a third heat leader above 8.00 If that’s true then with Masters, Brennan and Killeen already signed it effectively means 2 x 2 pointers at reserve and a 3.00/3.50 pointer at number 2
  16. Today
  17. Bens not interested in championship speedway, he’s top league in Poland and has aspirations of making the GPs and representing Aus
  18. It is strange that they pay so much when other leagues pay nowhere near the same.. As you say, it must be to outbid other Polish teams.. You would think they would just get together and agree on a maximum figure, meaning a more stable financial footing for the sport.. Lublin's new stadium is costing £48.2m which is being covered by the city council... You need to ensure TV and major sponsors remain interested to keep paying out what they do, and, of course, the fans to keep attending in the numbers they do..
  19. So is Tom Brennan really, but gone back for extra bike time
  20. Was it this one? https://przegladsportowy.onet.pl/zuzel/ekstraliga/jan-krzystyniak-nazwal-prezesow-frajerami-o-finansach-polskiego-zuzla/rlyyjp2 I'm not sure how much credibility you can give the contributor after this quote: "In Poland, simply setting limits doesn't make much sense. We know what these gentlemen are capable of. They'll officially offer a player a thousand złoty, but then hand over a million under the table. That's how it works in Poland. If people from Sweden or England were allowed to manage these clubs, they might be able to establish such rules in a day or two. No one would break the law, because there, words are worth more than money," 😁 In all seriousness, it does make you wonder why they pay 10-15x the going rate that a rider could get anywhere else in the world. If they halved their wages, they would still dominate world speedway.
  21. I'm happy to just go with whatever team is decided on,would love ben cook in the team, but would indicate he's not pushing on to the next levels but happy to settle at Poole in lower tier speedway, good for Poole tho
  22. Personally cant see it ,he is beyond Championship Level .
  23. If Poland wants riders to give them priority over Britain / Sweden / Denmark, they'd only have to pay them 2 or 3 times the amount. It appears they pay them 10 times the amount, which seems a waste of money to me. Obviously they are trying to outbid their fellow Polish clubs to be successful. If the Prem wants to limit doubling up, look to the lower end riders who maybe don't ride every week?
