  2. "It should be emphasised that any announcements from individual clubs regarding rider signings for 2027 remain subject to approval." From the statement over the postponement of the AGM.
  3. Today
  4. What is the points limit? What is the rules for '27 stating that any U21 reserve moves into the main body? It was an example, take out who you want and put a lower avg rider in, take Kileen out and another and put two others in, you'll get the same thing, i.e. a stronger top end with Killeen in, a longer tail with him out of it Maybe you can confirm the points limit please and that for U21 at 6 what averages they come in on 4.5/5.00/6.00 etc.
  5. Surely not the promoter of Scunthorpe, as surely that would be a conflict of interests 🤣
  6. In all fairness to Coleman - he came to the tapes with Ipswich extremely late - he still to this date doesn't have a years experience of running/owning in British league Speedway club, so when you say he talks the talk, I don't think he's had any kind of opportunity to do anything, and with the way the sport is run, its not going to be a short term showing is it - if he has ambitions to improve the sport, it will be done over the longer term
  7. He had a big on-track smash in the US in 2021, and then rode in Sweden 2023/24 (and possibly 2025?)
  8. Except that line-up is well over the points limit, and in that line-up Killeen would be reserve, and he's now turned 21.
  9. So is the rumoured top 4 Bomber,Flinty,Anders and Dan T ?
  10. Reading comments on here , anyone would think that the top tier (old Elite League) invented the doubling up (not down) rule. It started in about 2002 when two riders from Premier league clubs (second tier) could share a berth in the elite league . Their premier clubs always took priority. I feel like this had a negative effect on what was a brilliant model at the time (premier) with anything between 15-18 clubs for a while. This was the start of the feeling that riders weren't fully committed to one club anymore. The elite league being in such a mess at the time was the reason for this daft rule to be brought in. they need to make two leagues , have 5 man teams and a new heat format and go from there. Riders can only ride in one league not both.
  11. I did see that and thought back to his time as a scorpion. However he didn’t set the world alight then and can’t have improved much as he hasn’t been riding!
  12. Gino Manzares has posted he is looking for a full time mechanic in the UK next year, return to Scunny on the cards?
  13. I’m less optimistic about major change in the sport. Ousting cartel members from the top table and replacing them with Mark and Rob should have offered more. I’m please with the introduction of Northampton and an addition of a top man to the team Mark put together will result in a competitive side. Having Belle Vue on terrestrial TV for the first time in decades was a great result but after that not much to write home about. Richard Colman talks the talk but the only thing he has done so far was marked by that thing we all (most) hate - self interest. I’m worried he’s another in the long line of here today gone tomorrow promoters and with a none existent line of would be buyers I remain concerned about the long term viability of yet another club. Looking through Richard’s ventures to date does not fill you with confidence as to his staying power. After the previously mentioned pluses from this season it would be a shame to see things drop back again.
  14. I think the Klindt thing is a knee jerk reaction to his play off showing. I don’t see us replacing a young improving German with a near 40 year old Dane. If anything I think out of our two guests in the final, it would be Mitch that joins us despite his zero score at Sheffield. I think we will have a Cook, especially as it’s best to leave Jaimon at Northampton as they continue to establish themselves. It’ll be his first season in a team not put together by Mark. The top two will join forces for a seventh season (less one for Dan when Godfrey famously blocked him following Dans announcement on twitter about his return in ‘22) The last spot in the top five is the perennial mystery as we always have to make a change due to the points limit unfortunately. It would be great to keep continuity at reserve but that would take some leeway from the powers that be (riders have ridden in a U21 position whilst being 21) and a firm rejection to the cheque book clubs circling once again.
  15. some teams could use that to their benefit depending on resources could have 4 relatively big hitters in a side, use any you mentioned at no.2 with a decent U21 at 6 Say Sheffield for example Jack Holder Luke Killeen Chris Holder Zach Cook Josh Pickering Beau Bailey Jordy Loftus
  16. Too much spare time - i have been there many times.

  18. So, with the new U21 rule. One rising star U21 and one U21 rider. Will that make the league even weaker? The other U21 rider can be from another country, so in theory, we could have some good youngsters coming over, but from last year's reserves, other than the rising stars, does that mean there will be no places for riders like Tate Zischke, Drew Kemp, Jye Etheridge, and Jorden Jenkins? I also noticed Luke Killeen will turn 22 in April next year. Interesting times.
  19. Yes please! Mainly just to have Nicholls back. Although I reckon I'd rather have Harry Fletcher than Senna Summers. Can see him developing quicker.
  20. Tate Zischke is looking like a busy lad next year... Riding for about seven teams so far...
  21. It was done for development of riders to ensure plenty of UK ones were available for the top league as riders retired, or dropped down and saw their careers out in the 2nd Div.. Giving them a "taster" as to what the top level was, without putting undue pressure on them by losing their other role... Now it is done simply to share costs of riders who are 20 years and more veterans of the sport... Hence restricted race nights for the top tier.. Hence Poland kept the weekend to themselves... (And now added eight Thursdays, plus rearrangements)..... "How not to run a sport successfully" would make a decent book title...
