  1. Past hour
  2. Given the current circumstances surrounding Oxford, I think getting the meeting on was the top priority. A rain-off could have been disastrous. Yes, the track was pretty awful, but let's just be glad Oxford are actually coming to the tapes at the moment. Some perspective is needed I feel.
  3. Scored 6 and 8 there the last 2 years hardly screams track specialist to me
  4. Maybe they should do Redcar said a couple of seasons back: prepare the track for racing not the weather.
  5. Considering who Berwick went for at reserve I was surprised then didn’t have Dayle back.He done his job last season.
  6. Today
  7. That's what I keep saying, but your welcome to him, until you drop him when the averages change 🤔
  8. But according to all you lot anybody who rides for Poole are world beaters just for putting the team suit on 😜
  9. I dont remember ever seeing that quote but I have no faith that Bowes will improve much.
  10. The only hope is to continue chipping away at the old brigade and ideally move out one or two board members from the 2025 bunch every season. Lone voices never had any traction in the past but if people like Coleman join the cause and the old school/self interest driven can continue to be ousted then there is hope.
  11. Lawson is usually good at Oxford so surprised, Newman was poor too but rest were as expected really.
  12. Upwards I hope! The truth is the BSPA/L as it is now have no-one capable of handling Richard. His logical approach will be seen as threatening and disruptive. They will make allowances for his relative naivety then try and get him into line and wear him down just as they have done with others before him. Some great and capable individuals have been lost from the Promoters ranks because of this, RFG is so insular and just doesn't get any bigger picture at all. It's bobble hats and foot stamping all the way.
  13. Bowes should have been taken out of his last ride but it didn't matter as Mcdiarmid broke down.
  14. would be very harsh on Scott but i am surprised Mulford doesnt have a RS slot.
  15. I know we have people on here with experience of track preparation so my question is, when you have a situation like last night where the rain doesnt come and clearly from looking at the sky it isnt going to come anytime soon, how long would it take to get the track back to a state where you could get water into it and also not have a blue line?

  18. Newman only had 3 rides. They took him out for the TS ride, did they not? Not sure about Bowes. Maybe they hoped he was going to gate and pin it on the inside.
  19. Well done to Oxford, they wanted it more than majority of our boys. Track was set up for rain, slick and not ideal for racing but that’s the way it went. Two poor away meetings now and we need to see an improvement from a couple of the boys in the main part of the team. Coops should have had more than 4 rides, why we kept Newman and Bowes in their 4th ride is beyond me. It’s all good and well scoring well at home but we need them to show up away.
  20. Your Mrs quote is exactly spot on , no more words needed to sum up speedway nowadays.
  21. Who the hell does this fella think he is? Transparency, and Accountability, indeed.... He will be seeking Credibility and Integrity next.... Then, before you know it, he will be after meetings being ran with Jeopardy and Consequences, which could even end up givng the competitions Prestige and some larger financial backing... A slippery slope, this.....
  22. Poole were poor but, Rushen gave it 110% and I thought was impressive, sadly he’s a racer and the track was a railway. Cairns did his job, Bowes was poor.
  23. Poor racing track-very slick, no grip, gate & go, virtually no passing& very boring to watch, waste of £13.99. Poole underperformed,There may well have been reasons but IMO: Lawson-disapointing, Newman-poor, Kerr-average, Bowes-poor, Cook-Ok, Cairns disapointing but only 16, Rushen-OK 12 points should make 2nd leg interesting but generally Poole excel at Poole
  24. Richard Coleman has called out the bspl for full transparency and accountability on this subject in today’s speedway star
  25. Danny Ford .. the Ruben Amorim of the championship
