They should have the window display in Piccadilly again with the bike and race suit etc. The extensive use of billboards looked good on previous occasions and should be continued. I’m sure they’ll have the local TV again doing spots on all there broadcasts to the millions of locals. An Aces hub in the city would be good but its manning it that is the problem with all hands to the pump at the stadium to sort the actual event. Even a large Cardiff type crowd of 25-35 thousand fans wouldn’t make a dent in Manchester and the cost of taking over somewhere like Freight Island wouldn’t work financially. The only way any kind of speedway atmosphere could happen in the city centre is if a social media meet up was organised but even then it would be just another group in Manchester. Maybe they could utilise the empty space between the diamond lodge and the old bingo hall to create a large food, drink, social area for before & after the event. The fan zone can remain on the pitch behind the temporary stand as that seemed to work well.

Back in the day when I used to go to the Banger racing, they had team of 4 or 5 drivers and they called themselves northampton nutters. This was back in the mid 70s (1970s).

Just had an email to renew my season ticket at The Aces for £22.50 a match... Hmmmm.. £22.50 to watch around 90 mins of Premiership speedway, which is exciting , has drama, has a your team feel, prizes worth winning (£500 50/50 draw), and a consistent operating model, or £59, to watch 3 or 4 mins (depending on how many goals) of interesting Premier League football with the only drama being when someone pretends to hurt his toe. Decisions, Decisions... Whilst the football league are happy to pay 18 million a year on blokes that can walk down a street (mine away) unnoticed whilst still being 1.8 billion in debt is crazy and it’s only the fans that continue to point this out whilst these rich hobbyists carry on a debt path that will ultimately collapse. Easy this isn’t it. I think I’ll buy myself a new keyboard, now where’s cut & paste for next time and the next and the next.

Sure Vinnie will liven it up a bit for you 😉 -
A top bloke and the number 1 DJ and all round music bod in this area by some distance. However, from a presenting perspective he sounds like he's at a village fete.

Team news for the Redcar match is looking better , riders now a bit keener as the sun comes out. Some interesting names from the past looking for rides. -

I do wish they'd consider a season ticket that doesn't quite cover all the matches....I'd more than happily buy one this season if it was for 10 of 12 regular cup and league meetings perhaps for the price of 9 - I can rarely get to all the meetings in a season but if it allowed me to miss a couple I'd buy one!

Well, that's made my mind up... An effing bargain.... Where's me rattle and tartan blanket, and matching flask...

You don't get a seat for £25, that's south stand, pauper seats are £27!

Just had an email to renew my season ticket at United for £35 a match... Hmmmm.. £35 to watch around 65 mins of Premier League football, which is authentic, has jeapordy, has consequence, prizes worth winning, and no Mickey Mouse operating model, or £30, (or "just" £25 in the pauper seats), to watch 15 mins of Premiership Speedway without any of the attributes a team sport requires... Decisions, Decisions...

Top 3 of Poole, Glasgow and Oxford. 4th = Plymouth or Redcar. I like Plymouth's top 5, not sure about the reserves. With Redcar not sure about Jake Allen as a no5. Worky have the most question marks over it, literally everyone apart from JJ. They could finish anywhere from 4th to 9th. Who knows. Doubt it will be boring though! -
