  1. Past hour
  2. I recall a few years ago Matchroom saying speedway did not fit the profile of sport they could be involved with. They actually went with swimming as an experiment which worked well until the folk at the governing body didn’t like the changes being proposed.
  3. So,are Redcar going to show some fight? Or just going to lay down like they have done. For me the key could be King and Edward’s who have both been poorl over the last few important meetings?
  4. On a five year frame looking at natural talent its no contest Bailey all the way the flip side being the boy should be one day gracing the biggest stage so after 3-4 years UK he most likely will be off to Poland full time where Tobias may not improve much but he could be long term servant to UK speedway.
  5. Your time for meetings is not possible nor may I suggest accurate. As example, Why does a 33% increase in heats from 15 to 20 require 50% more time from 60 to 90 minutes? In all seriousness, the minimum that can be allowed for each heat is circa five minutes taking into account riders entering and exiting the track before and after races, preparing to start and of course track grading and that is without on track incidents. You are correct that more can and should be done to fill the time between races - Having a bloke on the centre green talking inane nonsense and laughing at his own jokes which nobody understands is just not good enough.
  6. He's a very, very talented young Aussie. But is he talented enough at just 16 to qualify for a visa through one of the State Titles?
  7. For a good, consistent quality show to be produced week on week there would need to be one company responsible for creating the product. I’m not convinced clubs across the board actually have consistent quality, albeit it’s quite possible for BSN to step up to produce something viable. However, terrestrial tv & Sky do not take content produced by/for streaming channels if that content is not exclusive for a while. But maybe the future being created by Speedway futures ltd such considerations have been accounted for.
  8. Whatever league structure we see next Easter, he should be nailed on for a place.
  9. Crumbs - I didn't know Chris had been promoted. 😉🤣
  10. Today
  11. Yeah I would certainly have, Zischke, MMD, gusts and even Dan Gilkes ahead of him. Dan Gilkes probably Oxford bound, if he’s recovered well from his nasty injury he’s a steal on his 4.58 AVG Ofcourse with Poole having nearly 6 points left it does leave the door open to seek a 5 point rider like Glasgow did. A rider like Nagel this year do tend to prefer the mid season switch rather than commit from the start. If you sign the right 5 point rider like Nagel, Basso and Pavolaa? They can make a mockery of that prior avg
  12. Robert Lambert, Carl Stonehewer, Sean Wilson possibly Ray Morten ?
  13. Nothing to do with Bowes fall out with Workington. Just don't rate the guy. Bases himself in POL. Just about to turn 24 and has ridden in POL since 2021 also in the POL U24 which he would not qualify for next year anyway. By example in 2025 he was 38th of 59 riders who rode the league regular and thats after 4 years riding POL and 2nd Lge of Swe. He may possibly ride to his 5.63 GSA but to me even that is because he rode against plenty of inferior quality riders to those in POL U24. At Poole he got 13 from 6 rides for Worky then 2 from 4 rides as a guest in late August. Can have his moments but I do question if he would be more suitable if others with more scope are available. I could be wrong of course and its just my opinion. I think his participation in POL could be in doubt as without POL U24 even his av in POL 2nd Div was 55th out of 59 regular riders from his 18 matches. Remember he has been in POL riding for 4 years not 1/2 years.
  14. Using this years team building rules 40+ RS whilst taking the Emil rumours into account. 1. Doyle 7.59 2. Rew 6.19 / Ellis 5.92 3. Musielak 6.63 4. King 6.50 5. Brennan 7.05 6. D. Thompson 5.87 7. Rushen (RS) 39.83 / 39.56
  15. Actually the Chris Harris interview took place after the Super Golden Heat and the Lawson & Cook interviews took place before the trophy presentation. Not everybody is on the vile social media platform that is Facebook and I don't think it's too much to expect, as paying subscribers to the BSN service, to see and hear from the winning (and losing, if they are willing) riders and management instead of watching a firework display, which never comes across great on tv despite broadcasters (not just BSN) always being drawn to them. Generally another good season of coverage though 👍🏻
  16. Very much so, Redcar have a good one there. I hope they can keep him next year (but if he doesn't want to stay with them, I'd love him at Glasgow).
  17. I know Bowes had the falling out towards the end of the season, is that your reason for not wanting him here? Put in some fast performances at Poole, don’t get me wrong I’d prefer Zischke over him but I’m sure Worky will be desperate to keep him. Shame that it’s highly unlikely Kerr will stay due to the limit because I like the look of him on his average. Lawson Bailey Rowe Zischke Cook Cairns Rushen would be my 7 of choice. starke not done enough to be back IMO. Toby and Kerr victims of the numbers games
  18. As said in earlier posts. Baiiey will be competing with 2 young up and coming Danes for at best a single slot in the team. This went under most peoples radar as the Regional Varde press release went out after all the hype put out regarding Bailey signing for them. The later release mentioned the other 2 young Danes plus mentioned that the 3 of them will be competing for one possible place in the team. For me Bailey who has just turned 16 is currently a level above both Cairns and Rushen although Rushen looks the real deal as an exciting racer with bags of potential not 16 until late March. Bailey on 4 points could well prove a real bonus if he dropped into reserve should Cairns improve (as we would expect) or Rushen (if signed) proves he is what many expect which is potentially the next exciting young Brit. Also if we retain Lawson/Rowe/Cook it leaves us with 5.89 points which leaves the option of signing a Young Euro/Dane rider who has done well in POL U24 league or a Zischke/Mcdiarmid. Just not Fraser Bowes PLEASE....... On Mcdiarmid already being mentioned on POL site that he could be their U24 overseas rider for 2026 in Leszno POL EXL Team. Not bad for a rider who only turns 18 in late March 26 off the back of his first season in UK. All this on assumption it is 2 leagues and a 40 point limit of course which none of us know for certain.
  19. Surprised there isn't more of a campaign to whip up objections to this.
  20. Yes but Tobias' 2nd division Danish fixtures were mainly on weekends! Next season it's rumoured that he'll be racing in the Danish senior league on Wednesdays.
  21. exactly this. the product is poor. aside from the standard of on track action it's 15 minutes of action dragged out over 2 hours. it's supposed to be a high octane extreme sport. unless you're into tractors then it's dull. if the endless track grading improved the on track action then fair enough but invariably it doesn't seem to make any difference. 15 heats is a 60 minute job 20 heats 90 minutes. Stats are huge in all sports now. they even create stats in football to make it seem more interesting or fill more TV time. speedway is made for stats yet there's zero content. make the match format more flexible. people love watching live sport and having opinions on what subs to make, or what tactics to use or who to bowl from what end etc. just say everyone has to have a min three and max six rides and let the team manager work out the best line up. let the trailing team select the gates. you know stuff that would add to the interest. you still need exciting on track action and it doesn't get much better than at Belle Vue but if you're waiting 5 , 10, 15 mins between heats with nothing to discuss then you lose all momentum. It's like when you go to a gig and the set list gets the crowd singing then the band play a new one and everybody goes for a piss. speedway is like that but with 5 minutes silence between each song while the band tinker with their instruments and some random person in overalls sweeps the stage.
  22. You do realise Nagel was not in a points scoring position at the time of his bike failure and it was the last lap and Cairns was in a points scoring position at the time of his bike failure having passed Hodder.
  23. Tobias didn’t have many fixture clashes over the past 2 years with his Danish fixtures.
  24. Can do Denmark when you don’t have a meeting here, just cause he’s signed a contract there doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be prioritising it.
